"I was actually surprised how nice it was," Van Drew said afterward on Fox News. "The conditions there are better than 90 percent of the world lives in, and probably half of America."

The people who broke into this country and preyed on your neighbors are living better than millions of American citizens who played by the rules their entire lives.
The Protesters Were Never There for the Detainees
The Left built this entire story on a hunger strike and inmate tablets.
For two weeks, anti-ICE protesters screamed about inhumane conditions based entirely on messages passed through facility-issued tablets from roughly 300 detainees.
Things got bad enough that Newark Mayor Ras Baraka called in state police and imposed a 9 p.m. curfew.

Those who violated it faced swift consequences.
"This is antifa," Van Drew said of the protest movement. "This is the George Soros crowd. These are the people that want mayhem and chaos and anarchy in our country."
If the protesters actually cared about detainee welfare, Van Drew's report would have ended the protests.
It didn't.

This isn't the first time Democrats built a movement on fabricated conditions inside a detention facility.
They ran the same playbook in 2019 – screaming about "concentration camps" at the southern border – until legislators toured those facilities and found soccer fields, hot meals, and medical staff already in place.

The GEO Group operates Delaney Hall under a $1 billion federal contract and is bound by national detention performance standards that have required medical care, recreation access, and full daily meals since 2011.
None of this is new.
New Jersey Governor Mikie Sherrill filed a lawsuit demanding health inspectors get inside – not because she has evidence of violations, but because she needs the narrative to survive long enough to fuel the next protest cycle.
The left's most powerful weapon is the story you never check.

And somewhere outside Delaney Hall tonight, the protesters are still there – because the truth was never the point.
