Democrats have held your homeland security hostage for 47 days straight.
Now the senators responsible for that hostage situation are sunbathing in Florida and gambling in Las Vegas.
Glenn Beck just told Trump the one constitutional move that could drag every one of them back to Washington, DC – and Democrats can't stop him from using it.
John Thune Left for Vacation While the DHS Shutdown Hit Day 47
Senate Majority Leader John Thune did something remarkable last week.
He brokered a last-minute deal in the middle of the night – a deal he knew the House wouldn't take.
He approved a Senate bill that stripped ICE and Border Patrol funding completely out of any DHS reopening package.
House Republicans took one look at it and said no.
Then Thune boarded a plane and left town for two weeks.
"He gets onto a plane and he is out," Glenn Beck said on his program. "Friday morning, he is gone. He makes a deal in the middle of the night knowing that the House is not going to accept this."
That's the Senate Majority Leader – the man elected by Republicans to lead their Senate majority – engineering a bill designed to fail, then disappearing before the consequences land.

Glenn's verdict was simple: "They have stopped working in the Senate for two weeks."
He isn't wrong.

Democrat Rep. Robert Garcia turned up at a Las Vegas casino.
Congressional delegations decamped to Scotland on taxpayer-funded trips – all while nearly 500 TSA officers had quit their jobs and Americans were standing in four-hour security lines at Houston's George Bush Intercontinental Airport.
Delta Air Lines had already pulled the airline's special congressional perks – the passes that let members skip the TSA lines your family stood in for hours.
Trump Has the Constitutional Power to Call Congress Back From Recess
Here is where Glenn Beck made his most important point.
Trump doesn't have to wait.
Article 2, Section 3 of the Constitution gives the president explicit authority to convene Congress on "extraordinary occasions."
Presidents have used it 27 times since John Adams first invoked the power in 1797.
Trump could do it tomorrow.
"The president has the ability to call back into special session and convene the Senate in the Constitution," Beck explained. "It's Article 2, Section 3. And he can do it on extraordinary occasions."
Then Beck laid out exactly why this qualifies.
The DHS shutdown just became the longest partial government shutdown in American history – surpassing even the 35-day 2018-2019 shutdown.
Nearly 500 TSA officers have quit. ICE agents have been pulled from deportation duty and sent to airports to hand out water bottles and check IDs.
"Domestic terror is on the rise," Beck said. "The American people are shut up in airports, long, long lines. We have ICE doing that job, which means they can't go out and do their other job."

Democrats held the whole department hostage until Republicans agreed to gut the agency keeping criminal aliens off your streets.
Republicans said no.
So Democrats killed the funding bill.
DHS's own statement called it exactly what it is: Democrats "recklessly keep DHS shut down" while TSA officers go without pay and families miss flights.
Now Chuck Schumer is crowing about his victory, declaring his party "held the line" and "stood united."
He held the line while your airport turned into a four-hour ordeal.
He stood united while ICE agents handed out water bottles at Houston's George Bush Intercontinental instead of arresting criminal aliens.
Trump Has the Power – Now Use It
Thune's position is that he won't bring the Senate back for a "show vote."
He needs something to vote on, his aides say.
That is a Senate Majority Leader telling the president of his own party that a 47-day shutdown, record airport chaos, and nearly 500 quit TSA officers don't meet the bar for urgency.
Beck's argument cuts through all of it.
Trump doesn't need Thune's permission.
He doesn't need bipartisan cooperation.
He doesn't need unanimous consent from a chamber where Democrats sit ready to blow up any deal they don't like.
He needs to pick up the phone, invoke Article 2, Section 3, and tell every senator currently sipping drinks in Orlando that their vacation is over.
Harry Truman called Congress back from recess in 1948 to make them own their obstruction in public – under hot lights, on the record, with the whole country watching.
It worked.
Trump can do the same thing to Chuck Schumer next week.
Drag every senator back from Disney World and Las Vegas and Scotland.
Make them sit in that chamber. Make them vote against ICE funding again – on camera, with your name on it, two years before a midterm.
Glenn Beck said it plainly: "I don't know what 'extraordinary occasions' means – but I think extraordinary occasions means like what we're going through right now."
The Constitution agrees. The precedent is there. The moment is now.
