He’s poured tens of millions of dollars into normally sleepy district attorney races to elect his handpicked pro-crime candidates.
Soros-funded District Attorneys who refuse to prosecute crimes have been installed in major cities across the country.
Two of the biggest special interests that Soros and Democrats cater to, illegal aliens and unions, came into direct conflict in Los Angeles.
Unionized workers at dozens of Los Angeles area hotels are out on strike.
Some of the California hotels with striking workers are accused of hiring illegal aliens from the Skid Row area, known for its massive homeless population, in Los Angeles as replacements for the striking workers.
Soros-backed Los Angeles DA George Gascón announced that he was opening an investigation into unionized hotels for potentially exploiting illegal aliens by hiring them as workers.
“We are going to make sure this is investigated thoroughly. It will be a fair and impartial investigation,” Gascón said. “If there are violations of the law, there will be severe consequences for this. We want to make sure that our community understands there will be no tolerance for the exploitation of refugees.”
Gascón said that the hotels may have violated child labor laws and potentially committed wage theft.
The investigation comes after the Los Angeles Times ran a story that many of the 60 Los Angeles area unionized hotels were turning to illegal aliens to fill the void after nearly 15,000 workers went on strike.
Hotels are scrambling to stay open during the strike so they’ve turned to recruiting workers from Skid Row.
Democrats normally celebrate illegal aliens finding employment in the U.S.
But when their political allies, unions, are threatened by the illegals, they sing a different tune.
Soros has been one of the biggest financial backers of groups helping illegal aliens cross the border into the country.
Protecting unions, who pour tens of billions of dollars into Democrat campaigns, takes precedence over illegal aliens.
Union Bosses were furious that illegal aliens were coming for their jobs.
“I can’t believe they are forcing these people, who are so desperate, to cross the picket line,” Kurt Petersen with Unite Here Local 11 told the Los Angeles Times. “Instead of addressing L.A.’s housing crisis, the hotel industry prefers to exploit the unhoused as strikebreakers to avoid paying their own workers enough to afford housing themselves.”
Tensions are growing on the Left as different special interests turn on each other.
