Gavin Newsom was left stunned when CBS actually pushed back on his insane gun-grabber narrative

Gavin Newsom is horribly mismanaging California.

Yet the media treat him as if he’s a godsend.

But Newsom was left stunned when CBS actually pushed back on his insane gun-grabber narrative.

California Governor Gavin Newsom is not having a good week.

His state has been hit with three horrific shootings.

That spurred Newsom and other Democrats to pound the table for more gun control.

After a deadly shooting in Monterey Park, Newsom was loaded up for a fiery interview, but Norah O’Donnell of CBS News actually gave him the big freeze with challenging questions.

In the news clip, O’Donnell mentioned in voiceover that “California has the strictest gun laws in the U.S.”

Governor Newsom then foolishly claimed “the Second Amendment’s becoming a suicide pact.”

O’Donnell immediately responded, “But there are many in this country that support the Second Amendment and are lawful gun owners.”

Newsom stumbled and replied, “Yeah, I have great respect—I have no ideological opposition to people reasonably responsibly owning firearms and getting background checks and getting trained.”

That’s a far cry from the Second Amendment being a “suicide pact.”

Statists like Newsom believe that the next gun law will be the one that stops criminals from obtaining and using a gun.

Law-abiding citizens are the ones who are punished.

O’Donnell asked, “Authorities say the shooter used a modified pistol with a high-capacity magazine. But how did he get a gun that’s illegal in the state of California?”

That’s a question that gun-grabbers never want to contend with.

Criminals and people with intent to do harm are not going to follow the law.

Newsom replied, “Exactly. We’ll figure it out. That’s gonna happen. We gotta enforce laws. Things fall through the cracks, but that doesn’t mean you give up.”

The “fall through the cracks” part is what Democrats have not been able to solve.

Part of the problem is that many Democrats do not want to discuss the link between mass shooters and mental health.

Instead they prefer to focus on gun laws and whether or not there’s an identity politics angle to sensationalize.

While Newsom is pounding the pulpit for more gun laws, people in Los Angeles are buying guns.

They are looking to protect themselves as bad leadership has allowed crime to fester.

Will gun sales spike again in 2023?
