Fox News uses liberal media talking points to attack Donald Trump
The media’s new talking point to attack Donald Trump revolved around right-wing activist Laura Loomer traveling with Donald Trump to the debate in Philadelphia.
Loomer is a devoted Trump supporter who also believes in baseless conspiracy theories like the 9/11 terror attacks being an inside job.
But Loomer has no direct affiliation with the Trump campaign.
Loomer is just a private citizen.
However, even Fox News picked up on this new manufactured line of attack and demanded campaign spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt answer for why Trump knows Loomer.
Fox News correspondent Jacqui Heinrich pressed Levitt about Loomer traveling with Trump after pushing theories about Haitian migrants in Springfield, Ohio capturing and eating people’s pets.
“[That theory] was evidently brought to his attention by this figure, Laura Loomer, who has promoted this theory. He’s been hanging around with her,” Henrich began. “How close is Trump to Laura Loomer and why is he bringing her around with him?”
Leavitt rejected Heinrich parroting the liberal media framing about Loomer.
“As President Trump said yesterday, this individual doesn’t work for the campaign, she’s simply a supporter of the president. And he doesn’t agree with everything she has said. He doesn’t agree with everything all of his supporters have said,” Leavitt stated.
Trump’s growing base of support
Leavitt also debunked the liberal media talking point that Trump is only seeking to gin up his base by pointing out that Trump attracted the support of Democrats like Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Tulsi Gabbard.
“He is building a big tent movement. Being supported by people like Tulsi Gabbard and RFK Jr., and while they don’t all agree on everything, they agree on the most important thing and that is ensuring Kamala Harris cannot be elected as president of the United States, considering she is a radical liberal,” Leavitt responded.
But Heinrich wouldn’t let go of the fact that Loomer believed in 9/11 conspiracy theories.
“We did hear the former president try to distance himself from Laura Loomer, but he didn’t denounce any specific statements that she has made. She once called 9/11 an ‘inside job,’” Heinrich shot back.
Laura Loomer isn’t a campaign spokeswoman.
She doesn’t speak for Trump.
Yet even Fox News is buying into the idea that she somehow is playing an important role in shaping Donald Trump’s message.
Fox News obsessing over Laura Loomer just feeds the media storyline and ignores Kamaka Harris and her record over the last four years.
