White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki continues to get schooled by the press.
Psaki seems to continuously be unprepared for the questions they throw at her.
And Fox News’ Doocy just doubled down on Psaki, catching her off guard again.
The back and forth between White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki and Fox News White House Correspondent Peter Doocy is frequent and headline-worthy.
Doocy isn’t afraid to ask the tough questions.
During Monday’s briefing, Doocy asked Psaki about the administration’s support for enhanced unemployment benefits.
It’s undeniable that these benefits pay people more money to stay home than go back to work, and it’s killing the U.S. economy.
The most recent jobs report was abysmal, showing only 266,000 jobs created in April.
So, Doocy set out to get answers, and things got tense.
“How does the White House know that people aren’t just choosing not to apply for jobs because the extra unemployment benefits are so good?” Doocy asked Psaki.
Psaki resorted to her standard operating procedure of attempting to dodge the question, but she should know by now that Doocy does not back down.
In her bizarre attempt at deflection, Psaki claimed that Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen dismissed this idea that Americans are making more money on unemployment than at their jobs.
“Well, first, let me say that we have looked at the data, and secretary Yellen referred to this, or, talked about this, on Friday – we don’t see much evidence that the extra unemployment insurance is a major driver in people not rejoining the workforce,” Psaki responded.
Then to make matters worse, Psaki rambled on about schools being closed having a more significant impact on Americans not going back to work.
“Child care has an impact. Schools reopening has an impact. But there is also the need to pay a livable, working wage. And that’s one of the reasons the President will talk about that this afternoon,” Psaki stated.
In Psaki’s attempt to dismiss what Doocy was asking, she actually confirmed the point that Biden’s policies have helped to stifle job growth.
Unfortunately for Psaki, Biden’s radical agenda is coming back to bite him, which means Peter Doocy will likely be asking her a lot more uncomfortable questions.
