Democrats just recruited a legal army – and they built it with your tax dollars.
That army is now deployed against Trump on transgender healthcare, the border, and federal research grants.
Here is what they are not telling you about where those lawyers came from.
The Deep State Did Not Disappear – It Relocated
More than 10,000 federal attorneys – roughly one-fifth of every lawyer employed by the federal government – walked out the door after Trump took office in January 2025.
Well over 100 of them landed directly inside Democrat attorneys general offices.
Fox News Digital confirmed it through LinkedIn profiles, state staff directories, and court filings.
These are not entry-level staffers.
One attorney spent nearly 20 years inside the DOJ – starting as a legal intern and rising to assistant general counsel, running entire teams of lawyers.

That attorney now works as a senior assistant attorney general in Colorado, using everything learned inside the federal government to fight it.
Maryland has a near-20-year DOJ veteran leading its efforts to hold the Trump administration accountable in court.
The DHS director of transparency left and joined the other side.
Multiple U.S. attorneys' office division chiefs followed.
These people took two decades of institutional knowledge – how federal cases are built, how the DOJ thinks, where the vulnerabilities are – and handed it to the opposition.
100 Lawsuits and a Daily War Room
This is not a coincidence or a collection of individual decisions.
Democrat AGs have filed more than 100 lawsuits against the Trump administration and they are coordinating every single one.
They have been meeting regularly since 2024 – before Trump even took office – to map out their legal strategy.
Staff from their offices talk every day, parceling out cases and deciding which state takes point on each fight.
Oregon Attorney General Dan Rayfield bragged to Fox News Digital about welcoming the former federal lawyers: "They're already making a difference – on consumer protection, federal overreach cases, criminal justice, environmental protection."

Translation: your tax dollars trained these people, and now they are using that training to stop deportations, block Trump's National Guard deployments, and keep transgender surgeries funded for minors.
The cases now bearing the names of these former federal lawyers include a Massachusetts lawsuit blocking restrictions on transgender healthcare for children, a California lawsuit challenging termination of research grants, and multiple cases targeting Trump's National Guard operations.
The DOJ Answers Back
Trump's DOJ is not taking this lying down.
A DOJ spokeswoman told Fox News Digital the results speak for themselves: "Even with a thousand fewer prosecutors than the previous administration, this Department has indicted nearly 50,000 more criminals than the previous administration had in the same timeframe."
The agency also points to 24 victories on the Supreme Court's emergency docket, the arrest of more than 90 cartel leaders, eight FBI Top 10 Most Wanted captures, and millions of doses of fentanyl taken off the streets.
"These achievements are nothing short of astonishing," the spokeswoman said, "and they have all been accomplished even with the supposed 'exodus' of anti-Trump prosecutors the media idolize."
On the departed lawyers, the DOJ did not mince words.
"Those who were fired from the Department were fired for a reason," the spokeswoman said. "Those who resigned or took the fork in the road option likely aligned more with the priorities of President Biden and would naturally leave."
Trump posted on Truth Social that many of the departing lawyers were "Radical Left Deep State Lunatics, who are destroying our Country, and Weaponizing Government."
Here is what that response does not account for: these lawyers are not gone.

They know exactly how federal legal defenses are assembled – because they spent two decades assembling them.
Chuck Schumer and Gavin Newsom did not build this machine.
You did.
Your taxes paid their salaries, funded their training, and taught them every trick the DOJ knows – and the moment Trump won, they walked those tricks straight into the offices of every blue-state attorney general who wanted them.
That is not a staff transition.
That is an insurgency – running on government expertise, coordinated through daily phone calls, and aimed squarely at a president the American people elected to clean up the mess these same lawyers helped create.
