Tim Walz spent years turning a blind eye to massive fraud schemes.
Billions of taxpayer dollars vanished while he looked the other way.
But federal agents just made 1,000 arrests in Minnesota and what they found has Democrats fuming.
Trump's Federal Agents Expose Minnesota's Billion-Dollar Fraud Empire
Federal authorities surged into Minnesota last week and arrested more than 1,000 criminals in what's become the largest fraud operation in American history.
Trump's Department of Homeland Security sent roughly 2,000 federal agents into the Twin Cities to clean up the mess Democrats created and the arrests came fast.
Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin told Fox News that agents arrested murderers, rapists, pedophiles, and gang members who'd been exploiting Minnesota's broken welfare system for years.
The arrest list reads like a horror show Walz and Democrats allowed to operate in plain sight.
Federal agents nabbed multiple convicted rapists with deportation orders dating back to 2009 who were still walking Minnesota's streets.
Child sex predators with removal orders from 2004 and 2006 continued victimizing communities for two decades while Walz did nothing.
Violent gang members from Somalia joined the roundup along with criminals convicted of assaulting police officers, soliciting minors for sex, and forcing children into prostitution.
A 63-year-old with convictions for sexual assault and armed assault had a deportation order since 2001 yet remained in Minnesota for nearly a quarter century under Democrat protection.
Another criminal was convicted of first-degree sexual conduct with a child under 13 and had a removal order since 2006 but Walz's sanctuary policies kept him in the state.
The pattern repeated across every arrest – criminals with final deportation orders from 15 to 20 years ago who should have been removed but instead committed more crimes against Minnesotans.
McLaughlin didn't mince words about who enabled this nightmare.
"Sanctuary policies and politicians like Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey allowed these pedophiles, domestic terrorists, and gang members to roam the streets and terrorize Americans," McLaughlin said.
The Numbers Behind Minnesota's Fraud Catastrophe That Forced Walz Out
The scale of fraud Walz allowed makes your blood boil.
Federal prosecutors estimate up to $9 billion in taxpayer money was stolen through various welfare schemes since 2018.
The Justice Department has charged 98 defendants in fraud-related cases and 64 convictions have already been secured.
Most of the defendants are from Minnesota's Somali community which Walz bent over backwards to protect from scrutiny.
The scandal exploded nationally when 23-year-old independent journalist Nick Shirley posted a 43-minute video on December 26 showing him visiting Somali-run daycare centers that appeared completely empty yet received millions in federal funding.
His investigation uncovered over $110 million in fraud in a single day.
The video went viral after Vice President JD Vance and Elon Musk amplified it and Trump's administration responded with overwhelming force.
The Department of Health and Human Services froze all federal childcare payments to Minnesota totaling about $185 million annually that supported care for 19,000 children.
"Funds will be released only when states prove they are being spent legitimately," Deputy Secretary Jim O'Neill announced.
Trump's FBI has been investigating dozens of Minnesota healthcare and home daycare providers with potential links to elected officials and terrorist financing.
Homeland Security Investigations agents went door-to-door investigating suspected fraud sites across the Twin Cities.
The Trump administration's assault on Minnesota's fraud networks spread across multiple federal agencies.
The Department of Justice is conducting extensive investigations into Feeding Our Future, Housing Stabilization Services, Early Intensive Developmental and Behavioral Intervention programs, and Evergreen Recovery.
The Small Business Administration halted all annual grant program payments to Minnesota.
The Department of Housing and Urban Development dispatched a team to conduct a wide-ranging investigation into public housing assistance fraud.
The Department of Labor is reviewing Minnesota's Unemployment Insurance program.
The Department of Agriculture demanded Minnesota recertify SNAP recipients to ensure compliance with eligibility requirements.
House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer opened an investigation and announced hearings with Walz and Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison scheduled for February 10.
The pressure became too much for Walz who announced on Monday he's dropping his reelection bid.
"I can't give a political campaign my all," Walz said. "Every minute that I spend defending my own political interests would be a minute I can't spend defending the people of Minnesota against the criminals who prey on our generosity."
Trump wasted no time responding on Truth Social.
"Minnesota's Corrupt Governor will possibly leave office before his Term is up but, in any event, will not be running again because he was caught, REDHANDED, along with Ilhan Omar, and others of his Somali friends, stealing Tens of Billions of Taxpayer Dollars," Trump wrote. "I feel certain the facts will come out, and they will reveal a seriously unscrupulous, and rich, group of 'SLIMEBALLS.'"
The federal crackdown exposed how Democrats created sanctuary policies that shielded criminals from deportation even when they had final removal orders dating back 15 to 20 years.
These weren't isolated incidents of a few bad actors gaming the system.
This was organized criminal fraud on an industrial scale that Walz and Minnesota Democrats either enabled through incompetence or covered up because the Somali community delivered votes and campaign contributions.
Attorney General Pam Bondi said the Trump administration would do what Minnesota refused to do.
"If Minnesota will not protect its own people, the Department of Justice will do it for them," Bondi stated.
The 1,000 arrests are just the beginning as Trump's agencies build cases against the massive criminal networks that flourished under Democrat rule.
Walz's political career is over and every Democrat governor who ran sanctuary policies should be paying attention.
Trump just showed them what happens when the federal government actually enforces the law instead of looking the other way while criminals steal billions from taxpayers.
