Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez took what was supposed to be her star turn at the Democrat National Convention.

But it turned into something else.

And everyone noticed one strange thing about Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in this video.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez adopts fake accent

Ever since Martin Luther King Jr. and the civil rights movement, Democrats try to adopt the voice of a black southern preacher to try and give moral weight to their speeches.

Ocasio-Cortez fell into that trap in her speech on the first night of the Democrat convention.

Her remarks included standard issue Democrat fare extolling the virtue of Big Labor and attacking Donald Trump as a “union buster.”

“I, for one, am tired of hearing about how a two-bit union buster thinks of himself as more of a patriot than the woman who fights every single day to lift working people from under the boots of greed, trampling on our way of life,” Ocasio-Cortez ranted.

But what stood out was the bizarre accent Ocasio-Cortez adopted when delivering these remarks.

Not the first time Ocasio-Cortez made  fool of herself

“This is what organizing looks like,” Ocasio-Cortez raged.

“This is what building power looks like. This is what changing the country looks like. It’s when we choose to show up and occupy the room and talk about the things that matter most, talking about our future,” Ocasio-Cortez added.

In a 2019 speech at Reverend Al Sharpton’s National Action Network convention, Ocasio-Cortez also adopted the fake black preacher voice.

Conservative pundit John Cardillo called out Ocasio-Cortez.

“In case you’re wondering, this is what blackface sounds like,” posted on X.

Ocasio-Cortez didn’t like that harsh truth and clapped back.

“Folks talking about my voice can step right off,” Ocasio-Cortez posted on social media.

“Any kid who grew up in a distinct linguistic culture & had to learn to navigate class enviros at school/work knows what’s up,” Ocasio-Cortez continued. “My Spanish is the same way.”

Night one of the Democrat Party National Convention was a disaster.

The party had to honor Joe Biden.

But Democrats still wanted to pretend like he doesn’t exist, so they shunted his speech to nearly 11:30 p.m. in the hopes that most Americans went to bed rather than be reminded that Biden is still in office and that Kamala Harris is his handpicked successor.

Ocasio-Cortez’s fake accent in her primetime speech only added to the debacle.
