Every Democrat Vanished When Nick Shirley Showed Up to Expose Them

Tim Walz called Nick Shirley's fraud videos "conspiracy theories."

Then federal prosecutors validated every word – and charged nearly 100 people.

What Democrats did the moment he walked into the Senate tells you exactly whose side they are on.

The 24-Year-Old Who Did What Tim Walz Refused To Do

Nick Shirley is a 24-year-old YouTuber with 1.8 million subscribers.

Last December, he published a 43-minute video walking into empty daycare facilities in the Minneapolis area – centers that were cashing government checks while serving zero children.

The Justice Department did not call it a conspiracy theory.

It called it a $300 million fraud scheme.

Federal prosecutors have since charged nearly 100 people – the majority connected to the Feeding Our Future nonprofit that turned pandemic food relief into a personal ATM.

On July 15, Shirley sat before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee and explained how ordinary Americans are being systematically looted.

"When we talk about fraud, we are talking about money that is being stolen from hardworking, law-abiding, taxpaying citizens," Shirley told the panel.

The Democrat side of the dais was empty.

The Party That Would Not Show Up

Every Democrat on the Senate Homeland Security Committee was invited to Rand Paul's hearing on "Exposing Fraud in America."

Not one stayed.

Sen. Gary Peters of Michigan – the ranking Democrat – appeared for opening statements, asked a handful of questions, and left before the substantive testimony began.

When Sen. Bernie Moreno noted that a Democrat should be questioning witnesses, Chairman Rand Paul replied with six words that belong in a time capsule:

"If there were a Democrat here, yes," he said.

Paul later posted that the empty chairs made Democrat priorities pretty clear.

These are the same politicians who spend every Sunday show talking about protecting democracy and defending public programs.

They could not find two hours to hear testimony about billions of dollars stolen from those exact programs.

What Shirley Actually Found

The Minnesota fraud was only the opening act.

Shirley told senators his investigations have expanded to California and New York – and the playbook is identical in every state he enters.

In California, the Medi-Cal budget more than doubled from $108 billion in 2022 to a proposed $222 billion while enrollment barely moved.

In New York, he described adult daycare facilities paying patients kickbacks simply to show up and inflate enrollment numbers, with over $2 billion funneled through operations that had essentially no administrative scrutiny.

California's response was not to fix the fraud.

It was Assembly Bill 2624 – nicknamed the "Stop Nick Shirley Act" – authored by Mia Bonta, wife of state Attorney General Rob Bonta, which would criminalize the kind of independent investigation Shirley has been running.

A sitting lawmaker married to the state's top law enforcement officer introduced a bill to stop a 24-year-old from telling the truth about where the money went.

James O'Keefe testified alongside Shirley, presenting hidden camera footage of paid operatives offering cash and drugs to homeless individuals in exchange for voter registrations and ballot petition signatures – conduct that led to a federal criminal indictment.

Democrats skipped that testimony too.

A Kid With a Camera Did What Billion-Dollar Agencies Would Not

Rand Paul told the committee something that should be obvious but apparently requires repeating:

"The federal government loses hundreds of billions of dollars to fraud everywhere. No private business would survive this way," he said.

He is right.

Your bank verifies your identity before it gives you a dollar.

Your health insurer audits claims before it cuts a check.

The federal government handed over billions to daycare centers without a single child enrolled – and then called the guy who caught them a conspiracy theorist.

Shirley's video alone sparked over 30 congressional bills, triggered a new federal anti-fraud task force, and led to what he described as the largest autism fraud bust in American history.

He did this at 23 years old with a camera while the agencies paid billions to do exactly this job stood by and watched.

The empty Democrat seats told you everything about why that keeps happening.

"If we as Americans do not stand up to protect our country," Shirley warned the Senate, "we will lose our country."

The chairs across the aisle were still empty when he said it.
