Elon Musk said three words about Kevin McCarthy that caused all hell to break loose in the GOP

Kevin McCarthy continues to come up short of the 218 votes needed to be elected as Speaker of the House.

A massive Civil War is breaking out within the Republican Party.

And Elon Musk said three words about Kevin McCarthy that caused all hell to break loose in the GOP.

Members of the U.S. House are battling it out to elect the next Speaker.

After twelve rounds of voting, Kevin McCarthy still hasn’t been able to muster up the 218 votes needed to become Speaker of the House.

A group of conservatives led by Matt Gaetz (R-FL) and Lauren Boebert (R-CO) are holding out on voting for McCarthy until he agrees to a list of demands that would shift power from the Swamp to the grassroots.

The conservatives are requesting changes to the composition of the Rules and Appropriations Committees, keeping legislation limited to only one issue, bringing back the open amendment process, term limits, and a few other grassroots-oriented terms.

The battle in the GOP over electing the next Speaker is leading to differences between Republicans like Sean Hannity and Tucker Carlson.

Hannity, who normally sides with conservatives, recently came out in full support of McCarthy and attacked Republicans who were refusing to vote for him.

Carlson, on the other hand, is supportive of the conservatives and believes their demands are reasonable.

But McCarthy just got support from a very unexpected well-known person.

CEO of Twitter, SpaceX, and Tesla, Elon Musk posted on his social media platform that Republicans should line up behind McCarthy for Speaker.

“Kevin McCarthy should be Speaker,” Musk tweeted Thursday morning.

After several Twitter users attacked Musk for supporting McCarthy, he followed up his original tweet.

“Subtle, but I am beginning to suspect opinions differ on this matter…,” Musk tweeted. “If not McCarthy, then seriously who?” he asked Twitter users.

Right now, no one knows who will be the next Speaker of the House.

Despite losing on twelve ballots, Kevin McCarthy refuses to bow out of the race and the conservatives continue to hold strong in their opposition to voting for him.

But Elon Musk is ready to see the debate end.

And he is hoping Republicans will elect Kevin McCarthy as Speaker of the House.
