But Elon Musk just revealed one change coming in 2024 to his social media platform that caught everyone by surprise.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk became a hero for free speech advocates when he purchased X, formerly known as Twitter, and ended the Left’s censorship regime on the platform.
Unfortunately for Musk, X has been a massive financial loss for the entrepreneur.
Fortune recently reported that X has lost 55 percent of its value since Musk purchased the platform.
Musk has acknowledged that X is dealing with a phase of “negative cash flow,” but hopes to turn things around with his future plans for the company.
According to a report from Business Insider, Musk has some very surprising changes in mind for the platform’s future.
During a recent meeting with his employees, Musk laid out his vision for transforming X into much more than just a social media platform.
For starters, Musk wants to make X one of the leading dating services in the world.
“X will in 2024 be a ‘fully fledged’ dating site,” Musk insisted during the meeting.
Business Insider reported that Musk did not offer any specifics on how X would function as a dating app.
But that was not the only change he hopes to bring to X’s future.
Musk is also hoping to turn X into the world’s largest digital banking platform.
“He wants people to pay for everything,” one employee present at the meeting said in regards to his vision for X.
However, not all X employees are enthusiastic about Musk’s vision for the future of the platform.
“Twitter’s workforce seem to harbor reservations and uncertainties, particularly regarding the company’s financial trajectory and valuation,” Breitbart News reported. “Questions from employees concerning these aspects reportedly remained unanswered during the meeting, leaving a cloud of uncertainty hanging over Musk’s ambitious plans.”
What Elon Musk decides to do with X remains to be seen.
But regardless of whether it incorporates dating or banking into the platform, the free speech allowed by Musk has already changed the political landscape in America.
