The Reflecting Pool has been a slow-motion disaster for over a century.
Built in the 1920s on drained marshland with zero structural support beneath it, the 2,028-foot basin spent decades sinking into the ground.
By the time Obama's team got involved, it was hemorrhaging 500,000 gallons of water every single week.
They spent $38 million of your money on a two-year renovation and called it a "green project."
Their big idea: ditch city water and pump in Potomac River water instead.
Within weeks of reopening, the pool turned solid green.

Algae blooms consumed it almost immediately, and the park service was back to draining and cleaning it all over again.
The "fix" didn't fix anything.
The leaks returned, the algae stayed, and one of America's most iconic landmarks looked – as Trump correctly called it – "filthy."
Trump Saw It and Fixed It
An international visitor brought the pool's embarrassing condition to President Trump's attention.
Trump saw it.
Then he did what Trump does.
He called in Interior Secretary Doug Burgum, told him he wanted it clean, and the two got to work on a real fix – not another government study, not another green energy experiment.
Burgum was direct about who made it happen.
"We've got the master builder," he said this week on Breitbart News Daily. "We've got President Trump. He's the only guy that's ever occupied that office that's done the level of complex construction projects. And he loves construction workers. He loves construction, and he knows exactly what he's talking about."

Trump himself put it plainly: "It won't leak, it will shine, and be the pride of Washington D.C. for decades to come."
The Number That Ends the Debate
Burgum sat down with Breitbart News Daily on June 1st and delivered the specific detail that exposes the entire media narrative as a farce.
"That thing, when we took this project over, was leaking 45,000 gallons of water a day," he said.
45,000 gallons.
Every single day.
The city had to pump water in continuously just to keep the level even – while Obama's $38 million solution crumbled and the pool turned the color of a swamp.
Burgum also explained why the color controversy is equally absurd.
On a reflecting pool, you want a dark bottom – not light blue like a swimming pool.
A dark bottom is what creates the reflection.
Trump chose the American flag blue for exactly that reason.
The New York Times panicked over the primer coat – the temporary bright color applied before the actual industrial liner goes on top.
Journalists nearly had meltdowns over construction primer.
Meanwhile a left-wing nonprofit actually sued to stop the project, arguing the renovation "alters the historic character" of a pool that was green, leaking, and falling apart.

Burgum explained the engineering realities the Times conveniently ignored.
Washington D.C. sees 90-degree summers and near-zero winters, meaning the 2,000-foot basin expands and contracts more than six inches over the course of a year.
The project includes draining it, sandblasting it, repairing 2.5 miles of expansion joints, and sealing it with an industrial-grade epoxy liner.
Those expansion joints are not cosmetic.
They are why the pool has leaked for decades, and why every cheap government fix has failed.
Trump's target: finished by July 4th.
America's 250th birthday.
The same National Mall where millions will gather to celebrate 250 years of the greatest country on earth – and they'll see a Reflecting Pool that actually reflects, in American flag blue, fixed by a president who knew how to do it right.
