Donald Trump’s lawyers filed a late night motion in front of Democrat Judge Tanya Chutkan that completely turned the tables on Democrat prosecutor Jack Smith.
Trump’s lawyers announced they intended to present classified intelligence from both the 2016 and 2020 elections about foreign interference in those contests.
The purpose of this motion was to show that foreign actors interfered in this election and that Donald Trump acted within the scope of his duties as President of the United States when he questioned the election results in key states.

A 2021 assessment by the intelligence community found that Iran “carried out a multi-pronged covert influence campaign intended to undercut former President Trump’s reelection prospects—though without directly promoting his rivals—undermine public confidence in the electoral process and US institutions, and sow division and exacerbate societal tensions in the US.”
Trump also intends to present evidence that the Ukrainians meddled in the 2016 election on behalf of Hillary Clinton.
“Ukrainian government officials tried to help Hillary Clinton and undermine Trump by publicly questioning his fitness for office. They also disseminated documents implicating a top Trump aide in corruption and suggested they were investigating the matter, only to back away after the election. And they helped Clinton’s allies research damaging information on Trump and his advisers, a Politico investigation found,” a 2017 POLITICO report reads.
This bombshell legal defense turns multiple narratives on their heads.
The first is the storyline the media and Democrats fabricated that during the 2016 election Donald Trump and his campaign colluded with the Russians to steal the election from Hillary Clinton.
But the second is that Trump had no basis in fact to contest the results of the 2020 election.
In a separate trial, Jack Smith is trying to put Trump in jail based on a novel legal theory about Trump’s ownership of classified documents from his Presidency.
Now Trump intends to flip the script and use classified documents from his Presidency to debunk Smith’s preposterous and politically motivated charges about Trump challenging the outcome of the 2020 election.
