Polls show Florida Governor Ron DeSantis will likely be the Republican nominee if Donald Trump decides not to run for President again in 2024.
But some Republicans have started asking what happens if they both run for President.
And Donald Trump just made a prediction about running against Ron DeSantis in 2024 that put jaws on the floor.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ staunch opposition to lockdowns, mask mandates, and vaccine passports during the COVID madness made him a rising star in the Republican Party.
Like Donald Trump, Ron DeSantis is also willing to stand up to and take on the left-wing mouthpieces in the corporate-controlled media.
That’s why Trump and DeSantis now sit at the top of the Republican field far above any other potential contenders for 2024.
But Donald Trump is still the overwhelming favorite.
And most GOP leaders say they don’t expect Ron DeSantis to run for President in 2024 unless Donald Trump doesn’t.
But what would happen if both of them were to run for President?
During a recent interview with Yahoo Finance, Donald Trump had the opportunity to answer that question.
“If I faced him, I’d beat him like I would beat everyone else,” Trump said when asked about running against DeSantis.
However, Trump said he doesn’t believe he’ll have to face DeSantis, adding “I think most people would drop out, I think he would drop out.”
Of course, Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis are friends and political allies.
If not for Donald Trump’s endorsement during the 2022 Republican Primary race for Governor, which boosted DeSantis to victory over establishment favorite Adam Putnam, Ron DeSantis may not be Governor of Florida today.
Donald Trump knows this, which is likely why he believes DeSantis would drop out of the race should he decide to run for President again in 2024.
But if Trump is the GOP nominee in 2024, he could choose Ron DeSantis as his running mate.
