Marines dying of cancer were still waiting for their government checks when Biden left office.
His DOJ had three years and paid out 459 families while 400,000 claims sat in a drawer.
Donald Trump just delivered $1 billion to the families Biden left to die – and the number that explains how he did it will make you furious.
Biden Signed the Law and Let Victims Rot
Here's what Biden actually did for Camp Lejeune victims.
He signed the Camp Lejeune Justice Act in August 2022.
Then his DOJ slow-walked every single payout while the victims aged, got sicker, and died waiting.

By the time Biden left office in January 2025, his administration had paid out just 459 settlements totaling $59.6 million.
Four hundred and fifty-nine people – out of more than 400,000 claims filed.
"It seems like we're on the slow train to nowhere," said Mike Partain, one of the loudest voices for Lejeune families.
That's what three years of Biden "compassion" looked like in practice.
What Trump Did in 21 Months That Biden Couldn't Do in Three Years
Donald Trump took office in January 2025 and made Camp Lejeune settlements a priority from day one.
He directed the DOJ to move fast.
Associate Attorney General Stanley Woodward personally seized control of the approval process – pulling it back from the bureaucratic layers that had been sitting on claims for years.
In a single three-week stretch this spring, Woodward approved 649 settlement offers totaling $175 million.
By October 2026, the Trump administration had paid out $919.7 million to more than 3,300 families.
Trump announced at a North Carolina rally Tuesday night that the total has crossed $1 billion – with orders for the DOJ to settle all remaining legitimate claims as fast as possible.
"We don't want to give any to the trial lawyers," Trump said. "We want it all to go to the families."
Ed Bell, a South Carolina attorney who spent 22 years fighting to pass the Camp Lejeune Justice Act, told Fox News Digital that the DOJ team under Trump has been exceptional.
"I have to say, I'm very bullish on what the Department of Justice has been doing," Bell said, singling out Woodward as someone who is "working his tail off" on the settlements.
The Worst Water Contamination Scandal in American Military History
Between 1953 and 1987, three of Camp Lejeune's eight water systems pumped toxic chemicals – benzene, industrial solvents, chlorinated compounds – directly to Marines, their wives, and their children.

The contamination levels ran 240 to 3,400 times higher than what federal safety standards permit.
The Marine Corps discovered the contamination in 1982.
They did nothing.
They let troops keep drinking it.
Pregnant women drank it, and their babies died.
Up to one million people may have been exposed over those decades.
The contamination caused four incurable diseases, according to Bell.
Jerry Ensminger – a Marine veteran who became one of the loudest advocates for Lejeune families – watched his nine-year-old daughter Janey die of leukemia in 1985, from the very water the Marine Corps knew was poisoned.
The government didn't begin formally notifying former residents of their exposure until 1999.
Seventeen years after they knew.
What This Actually Proves
The Congressional Budget Office estimates total Camp Lejeune payouts could eventually reach $21 billion – a figure attorneys compare to the 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund, which has paid out more than $18 billion.
About 300,000 claims still need resolution, according to Bell.
That's not a small problem – it's a multi-decade reckoning for what the federal government did to the men who served this country.
What Trump has proven in 21 months is that the "slow train to nowhere" under Biden was a choice, not an inevitability.

When a president actually cares about getting checks to veterans instead of protecting bureaucratic timelines, the money moves.
Payments for victims range from $100,000 to $550,000 depending on the severity of the illness – and Bell calls it a fair system, because someone with stage-four cancer receives more than someone with stage-one.
They watched it kill their children.
They spent decades fighting just to be believed – and then another decade fighting to be compensated.
Trump delivered $1 billion in 21 months.
Biden delivered $59.6 million in three years.
The families know the difference.
