Chuck Schumer spent four months trying to destroy Kash Patel.
Now the FBI just released crime numbers that prove him completely wrong.
What Karolina Leavitt revealed at the podium just buried four months of Democrat attacks in a single briefing.
The Numbers Democrats Cannot Explain
The FBI's 2025 Uniform Crime Report – drawing data from more than 17,000 law enforcement agencies covering 96% of the country – shows the single largest decrease in violent crime and murder since 1937.
Murder dropped 18%.
Robbery dropped 18.5%.
Rape fell 8%.
Aggravated assault dropped more than 7%.
Total violent crime fell 9.3%, translating to 1.1 million fewer violent crimes than the year before.
Leavitt didn't hedge a single number.
"The United States is at a 125-year low in murder rates across this country," she told reporters. The crime rates in America "have completely plummeted."

The Council on Criminal Justice – not a Trump organization, not a conservative think tank – found that the murder rate in America's largest cities fell to 4.0 per 100,000 residents in 2025.
That's the lowest level ever recorded in law enforcement or public health data going back to 1900.
The largest single-year drop in murders in recorded history.
And Patel did it while the Left was trying to fire him.
Schumer's Smear Campaign Hit a Wall
The backstory matters here.
In April, The Atlantic published a piece claiming Patel drank too much, missed work, and was a national security risk.
Schumer ran to the Senate floor immediately.
"Kash Patel must resign immediately," Schumer announced. "He is not a serious person."
Patel's response was to file a $250 million defamation lawsuit against The Atlantic and keep doing his job.
Then Patel walked into a Senate hearing, waved the FBI crime statistics in front of the cameras, and dared anyone to argue with the numbers.
Eight of the FBI's Ten Most Wanted fugitives captured – more than twice as many as during the entire previous four-year Biden administration.
More than 5,000 child predators and human traffickers were arrested.
290% increase in gang takedowns.
31,000-plus violent criminals and gang members off the streets.
Trump stood beside Patel at the Nassau County Police Academy on August 14 and delivered the verdict himself: "We achieved the single largest reduction in violent crime in American history."
The 2026 Numbers Democrats Were Hoping You Would Never See
Democrats were counting on Trump to abandon Patel the way he's abandoned others.
It didn't happen.
Leavitt made that explicit: the president still has full confidence in Patel and his "law and order team to do what they have been doing so well over the course of the last year and a half."
That's not a holding pattern – that's a green light to keep going.
And the 2026 numbers show Patel isn't slowing down.
In the first half of this year compared to the same period last year, homicides are down another 18% – putting murder rates on pace for the lowest level in at least 126 years.
Carjackings down 47%.
Motor vehicle theft down 20%.
Robberies down 17%.
Washington, D.C. is down 42% in murders just this year, building on last year's 60% plunge.
Memphis recorded fewer than 200 murders last year for the first time since 2019.
New Orleans hit its lowest homicide rate in nearly 50 years.
This is what happens when you let law enforcement do its job instead of apologizing for it.
The Democrats had one move: destroy the man running the FBI before the results came in.
The results came in.
Patel is still standing. And 3,100 Americans who would have been murdered under the Biden-era trajectory are alive today.
Schumer can explain that at his next press conference.
