The search for Donald Trump’s running mate is kicking into high gear.
One name continues to consistently be linked to the job.
And Donald Trump Jr. shocked everyone with this clue about his dad’s Vice President.
Rumors have been swirling for months about who could join former President Donald Trump on the ticket as his running mate.
Everyone from RINO former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley to conservative firebrand Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) has been mentioned as a potential contender.
Donald Trump Jr. said that a name was on the table that would create the dream ticket for many conservatives during an interview on Newsmax.
He told Wake Up America host Rob Finnerty that former Fox News host Tucker Carlson “would certainly be a contender” to be his dad’s Vice Presidential pick.
Finnerty asked Trump Jr. if his dad was “serious about Tucker Carlson” as a potential running mate.
“I mean they’re very friendly, I think they agree on virtually all of these things,” Trump Jr. said.
“They certainly agree on stopping the never-ending wars and so, I would love to see that happen,” Trump Jr. continued. “That would certainly be a contender.”
Trump Jr. has also floated names like Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH), and former Trump Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson to be Vice President.
“You need someone who’s in alignment, as well as, like, aggressive. You actually need a fighter,” Trump Jr. said. “The Republicans in Washington, D.C., are weak. You can have the House, the Senate, and they’ll still roll over.”
He said that he would fight tooth and nail to keep his dad from picking Haley as his running mate.
“I would do whatever I could to make sure it wasn’t Nikki Haley!” Trump Jr. exclaimed. “That’s my opinion, I don’t make these decisions.”
The former President was open to choosing Carlson as a running mate during an interview on The Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show last November.
“I like Tucker a lot; I guess I would,” Trump said when asked about picking Carlson. “I think I’d say I would because he’s got great common sense.”
Former First Lady Melania Trump is advocating for her husband to pick Carlson according to a report from Axios.
She thinks that Carlson would be a powerful presence on the campaign trail and that a Trump-Carlson ticket would convince her to make more campaign appearances.
Carlson has denied having any interest in becoming a politician but an offer from Trump to be his Vice President could change his tune.
The Vice Presidential pick would be the likely Republican front-runner in 2028 and the heir to Trump’s political movement.
Tucker Carlson could ensure that the Trump agenda continues to thrive well into the future if he became the former President’s running mate.
