Donald Trump is checking his back for wounds following this GOP Senator’s betrayal

Donald Trump has had one of the most powerful voices in all of politics for years now.

Some in his own Party couldn’t stand that.

And one GOP Senator’s betrayal has him checking his back for wounds.

Donald Trump’s endorsement is unquestionably the most powerful in all of Politics right now.

And he’s been generous in lending his endorsement to conservatives in need.

But now, this one Trump-endorsed Senator may have just stabbed the former President in the back with an endorsement of his own.

Donald Trump has been on a mission to rid the GOP of existing Never-Trumpers – not through General Election losses, but via primary election victories.

One of the next big names on his list is RINO Sen. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska.

Sen. Murkowski has long been one of the most Left-leaning Republicans in the U.S. Senate.

She’s had a vendetta against the 45th President of the United States and even voted to convict him on bogus impeachment charges in 2021.

Trump has endorsed Murkowski’s primary challenger, Kelly Tshibaka.

The Alaska Republican party has also endorsed Tshibaka.

In fact, the state GOP, last year, went as far as voting 53-17 to censure Murkowski and discouraged her from identifying as a Republican candidate in 2022.

Meanwhile, Murkowski is backed by Democrat Senators Joe Manchin of West Virginia and Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona.

But Murkowski just received another surprise endorsement.

Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina is lending his name to Murkowski’s re-election campaign.

“The road to socialism runs right through a divided Republican Party,” Sen. Scott said. “I like winning and frankly the best shot at us keeping that seat is without doubt Lisa Murkowski.”

The endorsement of one of Trump’s biggest detractors comes as a surprise from Sen. Scott.

Trump came out early backing Scott in his 2022 re-election bid – giving the South Carolina Senator his “complete and total endorsement” back in March of 2021.

At the time, the Scott campaign was incredibly grateful to have Trump’s support.

“Thank you, President Trump!” Scott spokesman Bradford Traywick tweeted at the time. “Tim Scott is honored to have President Trump’s endorsement. In just four years they were able to pass historic tax reform, achieve record unemployment, seat 220+ conservative judges, begin Operation Warp speed, and enact vital criminal justice reform.”

So, why the sudden change and knife into the back of the former President?

Many political pundits believe Sen. Scott is positioning himself for a 2024 bid for the White House – and is perhaps looking at the moderate lane as his best path to victory in the primary.

Remember, when defending his endorsement of RINO Murkowski, Scott could only cite his desire to win.

Scott has denied any Oval Office ambition, however, his new book, America: A Redemption Story, says otherwise.

In fact, on the copyright page, Scott makes his case to why his book should be cataloged in the Library of Congress – and his statement leaves little doubt.

“Senator Scott is a rising star who sees and understands the importance of bipartisanship to move America forward,” the text reads. “This book is a political memoir that includes his core messages as he prepares to make a presidential bid in 2022.”

Scott is considered a heavy favorite to win re-election for his Senate seat in 2022.

Meanwhile, Murkowski and Tshibaka will face a crowded field in a ranked-choice voting jungle primary on August 16th, with the top four finishers, regardless of party, advancing to the general in November.
