Republicans are still trying to pick a new Speaker of the House.
It looks like anyone will have an uphill battle to get 217 votes.
And Donald Trump is about to make one bombshell announcement about the Speaker of the House.
The Washington, D.C. Swamp rose up to defeat the candidacy of Jim Jordan to become the next Speaker of the House.
25 establishment RINOs blocked Jordan from winning 217 votes to become the Speaker over fear that Jordan wouldn’t support a blank check for Joe Biden’s war in Ukraine or that Jordan would insist on cutting spending for Biden’s woke and weaponized government.
A slew of candidates threw their name in the ring, but it was quickly clear that RINO House Majority Whip Tom Emmer was the Swamp’s number one draft pick.
Former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy quickly endorsed Emmer.
“He is the right person for the job. He can unite the conference. He understands the dynamics of the conference. He also understands what it takes to win and keep a majority,” McCarthy declared.
And Emmer certainly is the leader in the clubhouse.
But Emmer has a Donald Trump problem.
Trump knows Emmer is a Swamp RINO and POLITICO reports that Trump told his associates that he plans to oppose Emmer’s candidacy.
Emmer voted for the debt ceiling surrender, which allows Joe Biden to run up unlimited debt until January 2025.
The 45th President opposes Emmer due to the fact that Emmer condemned Trump following January 6 and refused to endorse Trump’s Presidential campaign.
“In conversations Friday, Trump made clear he was concerned by the prospect of Emmer in the speaker’s chair, telling people he believed the Minnesota Republican was not a fan, according to two people familiar with those private talks. Trump has complained, they say, that Emmer has not forcefully defended him against the indictments he is facing. He has also pointed to Emmer’s criticism of him following the Trump-inspired Jan. 6 Capitol riot, and reports — which Emmer strenuously denied — that as then-chair of the House GOP campaign arm, he advised Republican candidates to avoid mentioning Trump,” POLITICO reports.
Trump advisor Boris Epshteyn appeared on Steve Bannon’s War Room podcast and slammed Emmer as out-of-step with the conservative base.
“If somebody is so out of step with where the Republican electorate is, where the MAGA movement is, how can they even be in the conversation?” Epshteyn declared. “We need a MAGA Speaker. That’s what it comes down to. Because if you look at the numbers, if you look at the energy, if you look at the heat, this is the Trump party, this is the MAGA party. It is no longer the old-school khaki establishment Republican Party.”
Kari Lake advisor Caroline Wren warned conservatives that electing Emmer – who once worked for George Soros-aligned groups – as Speaker of the House was a vote to fund Jack Smith’s witch hunt criminal persecutions of Donald Trump.

The Swamp is trying to reassert control over the GOP by foisting a RINO like Tom Emmer on the party as the new Speaker of the House.
But Donald Trump is reportedly ready to lead the pushback.
