Democrats and the media wanted to use January 6 to end Donald Trump’s ability to run for President again.
But those plans just collapsed.
And now Donald Trump had this stunning reaction to secret January 6 video footage.
Tucker Carlson set hair on fire across Washington, D.C. by playing never before seen footage from the Capitol’s security camera on January 6.
The footage Carlson presented to the public showed a different take on January 6 as Trump supporters peacefully milled around the Capitol, which led Carlson to compare them to “sightseers.”
Democrats, the media, and even establishment Republicans like Mike Pence and Mitch McConnell blasted Carlson for blowing up the establishment’s narrative about January 6 being a Trump-inspired insurrection to overthrow the government.
In an interview with Breitbart, Donald Trump praised House Speaker Kevin McCarthy for allowing Carlson access to a complete archive of 41,000 hours of Capitol security camera footage.
“I think it’s a fantastic thing he did. I think it’s a brave thing he did,” Trump stated. “I think it’s one of the most consequential acts he’s done as a politician and everybody is very happy with him. He’s doing a wonderful job as Speaker.”
Trump’s endorsement of Kevin McCarthy proved decisive in the Speaker of the House election, which Trump was happy to boast about after McCarthy allowed Carlson to view the unseen footage from the Capitol on January 6.
“I’m very proud of him,” Trump added. “I think he’s done a great job. This was a great thing he did for the country.”
In his own interview with Breitbart, McCarthy debunked claims that Carlson put the Capitol’s security at risk.
“We just want to make sure we go through them all, and it takes time,” McCarthy explained. “The first thing that Tucker said too, he didn’t want to show any exits to cause any problems. We asked the Capitol Police, ‘Were there any concerns?’ They came back with one, and we mitigated that, but it was interesting, that one that they had a problem with, Eric Swalwell had had up on the Internet for the last two years showing that part.”
Trump and his supporters spent two years arguing that the January 6 Committee and the media misled the American people about what really happened on January 6.
Members of the press decried those conservatives as conspiracy theorists.
But the video footage that Tucker Carlson released proved otherwise.
