A company called You Win USA charged Chinese clients up to $80,000 to lie their way into America and have a baby.
Yesterday, John Roberts and Amy Coney Barrett handed that exact business model a Supreme Court blessing.
But Donald Trump had a counterpunch ready before Roberts finished writing the opinion.
DOJ Drops a Prosecution Bomb on Birth Tourism the Same Day as the Ruling
Within hours of the 6-3 decision, Deputy Attorney General Colin McDonald issued a memo to every federal prosecutor in America with a single order: make birth tourism your top priority.
This wasn't a press release.
And he didn't limit them to visa fraud.
Prosecutors were told to pursue money laundering, wire fraud, identity theft, aggravated identity theft, and conspiracy to commit health care fraud – charges that carry far heavier consequences than a simple immigration violation.

Attorney General Todd Blanche made the strategy plain on Wednesday.
"It's a booming industry," Blanche told reporters, "and it will continue, given this Supreme Court ruling yesterday."
If SCOTUS won't let Trump end birthright citizenship by executive order, Trump will make the business of selling American citizenship so legally dangerous that operators shut themselves down.
The Three Federal Cases That Show Exactly How This Racket Works
Michael Wei Yueh Liu and his wife Jing Dong ran USA Happy Baby Inc., a Chinese birth tourism operation that taught clients how to evade border agents and charged tens of thousands of dollars for the service.
They each drew 41 months in federal prison.
Ibrahim Aksakal ran a Turkish-language birth tourism ring in New York, advertising on social media and coaching clients word-for-word on what to say at the border.
Aksakal got 27 months and over $1 million in restitution.
The largest operation in the memo belonged to Chao "Edwin" Chen — his You Win USA pulled in $3 million in international wire transfers across more than 500 clients at up to $80,000 per birth.
Chen's team marketed the service with promises of free public schooling, cleaner air, and a pathway to bring the whole family over – American citizenship sold like a premium product, with a customer service operation that coached clients to lie at the border.
Chen got 37 months.

DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin didn't soften the national security framing on Fox News.
"This is truly a national security risk," Mullin said.
He's right.
When Chinese nationals are paying $80,000 to birth children with American passports, you're not looking at desperate families seeking a better life.
You're looking at a calculated operation designed to manufacture future American citizens whose first loyalty was purchased, not earned.
The Chinese Communist Party has openly encouraged dual-citizenship strategies for years.
Spending that kind of money to secure your child an American passport isn't assimilation – it's a hedge against a regime that might not survive your lifetime.
Roberts and Barrett Just Handed Trump the Blueprint for His Next Move
Justice Brett Kavanaugh – also a Trump appointee – wrote separately that while he voted to block the executive order, Congress could still address birthright citizenship through legislation.
That was Trump's opening, and he took it the same afternoon.
"Congress should start TODAY," Trump wrote on Truth Social, "to work on ending expensive and unfair to our Country, Birthright Citizenship."
Speaker Mike Johnson said he was "very disappointed" and called birthright tourism "grossly abused in recent years."
Clarence Thomas wrote a 91-page dissent – 91 pages – agreeing with Trump that the 14th Amendment was never designed to create a citizenship lottery for anyone who could clear a border checkpoint.

The amendment was written to give formerly enslaved Americans the citizenship that Dred Scott denied them.
It was not written so that a company could sell American citizenship by the birth.
Roberts, Barrett, and the three liberal justices said that distinction doesn't matter.
Trump said it does.
And while Congress battles over whether a constitutional amendment is the only path forward, his DOJ just made it a federal crime to profit from the loophole Roberts preserved.
Every birth tourism operator in America now has a federal target on their back – their bank wires documented, their client lists exposed, their social media ads preserved as evidence.
Tuesday's ruling handed them constitutional protection.
Wednesday's DOJ memo handed prosecutors a roadmap to prosecute them into extinction anyway.
