The world is on fire thanks to Joe Biden’s bungling.
Biden left a growing mess for Donald Trump to clean up.
And Donald Trump got caught off guard by Joe Biden’s bad decision that could start World War III.
Donald Trump slams Ukraine for escalating the war against Russia
Joe Biden and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky conspired to push the war against Russia to the brink of nuclear conflict.
In one of his final acts in office, Biden approved Ukraine firing long-range missiles from ATACM systems deep into Russian territory.
Russian President Vladimir Putin responded by lowering his country’s threshold for using nuclear weapons.
In an interview with TIME Magazine following the publication naming Trump “Man of the Year,” Trump slammed Zelensky winning approval to fire missiles into Russia as “dangerous.”
But Trump said he didn’t think there would be any further escalations until he gets into office.
“I think the most dangerous thing right now is what’s happening, where Zelensky has decided, with the approval of, I assume, the President, to start shooting missiles into Russia. I think that’s a major escalation. I think it’s a foolish decision. But I would imagine people are waiting until I get in before anything happens. I would imagine. I think that would be very smart to do that,” Trump stated.
Trump reiterated his call for a negotiated end to the war.
When TIME asked if that meant Trump would “abandon” Ukraine to a Russian takeover Trump said a deal meant lasting peace.
“I want to reach an agreement, and the only way you’re going to reach an agreement is not to abandon. You understand what that means, right?” Trump stated.
Zelensky seemed to get the message.
Prior to Trump winning the election Zelensky declared he would never accept a deal that traded land for peace.
But with polls showing the war growing more unpopular in Europe, Russia suffering hundreds of thousands of casualties, as well as the reality that Trump and Vice President-elect J.D. Vance don’t support more aid to Ukraine, Zelensky changed his tune and expressed openness to a negotiated settlement.
“The most important thing is to work together on how to end this war—that is our top priority. During the meeting in Paris, this was exactly what we focused on, and it was a very productive conversation,” Zelensky wrote.
“I reiterate my gratitude to President Macron for organizing it, as well as my deep gratitude to President Trump for his strong resolve to bring this war to a fair end. This is the right approach, and it is important that all details are thoroughly worked out to ensure that peace is truly durable,” Zelensky added.
“We know that America has the capacity to accomplish remarkable things—things that others have not been able to achieve. To succeed in ending this war, we need unity—the unity of America, Europe, and everyone in the world who values security—as well as strong positions and guarantees for peace. I told President Trump that Putin fears only him and, perhaps, China. And that’s the truth—only decisiveness can bring this war to a just end and ensure lasting peace,” Zelensky concluded.
