Joe Biden released Jose Medina-Medina into America – and Chicago let him walk free twice.
Sheridan Gorman was on the pier at Tobey Prinz Beach with friends, hoping to catch the Northern Lights over the Chicago skyline, when Medina-Medina shot her in the upper back as she ran.
Now her mother just told Martha MacCallum exactly what Trump said when he called – and it's the last thing the media wants you to hear.
Trump Spoke as a Father, Not a Politician
Jessica Gorman sat down with Martha MacCallum on The Story and described the call.
"President Trump called us, and despite what people might think, he did not say one thing political," Jessica said. "He just basically held us. His whole team calling out, wonderful supportive things."
"He spoke to us as a father and grandfather," she added.
Jessica later joined Trump onstage at his Suffern, New York rally in May, where she spoke through tears about every moment the system had a chance to save her daughter – and didn't.
"No mother should ever have to wonder if her child called out for her in her final moments," she said. "No mother should ever have to imagine her baby lying alone and bleeding on the cold pavement."

Sheridan's father Tom put it in plain terms.
"No family should ever have to become experts in immigration failures, release policies, warrants, sanctuary laws, and enforcement breakdowns because their daughter was killed by someone who should not have been here."
Biden Released Him. Chicago Let Him Walk. Sheridan Paid for It.
This was not bad luck.
DHS confirmed that Medina-Medina entered the country illegally from Venezuela in May 2023 – apprehended at the border and released directly into the United States under Biden administration catch-and-release policy.
That summer, Chicago police arrested him for shoplifting.
He skipped his court date.
A warrant was issued.
Nobody came for him.
The House Judiciary Committee later obtained internal Border Patrol documents showing Medina-Medina had been flagged as a flight risk with no valid asylum claim before Biden officials released him anyway.
DHS Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis named it plainly: Sheridan "was failed by open border policies and sanctuary politicians who released this illegal alien twice before he went on to commit this heinous murder."

Chicago's TRUST Act – the sanctuary statute Brandon Johnson and JB Pritzker have repeatedly defended – bars local police from turning criminal illegal aliens over to federal immigration authorities.
Biden's Justice Department dismissed 84,000 immigration cases in fiscal year 2023 alone, on top of 91,000 dismissed the year before, according to the House Judiciary Committee.
They released over 75 percent of all illegal aliens encountered at the border in December 2023 without detention.
They knew who Medina-Medina was.
They knew he was a flight risk.
They released him anyway.
Trump Is Cleaning Up Biden's Catastrophe
Trump called Sheridan's death "devastating" and named Biden directly.
"These people were let in by Biden,” he said. “We're getting them out – we're getting them out fast. That's why ICE is so important."
The numbers say he means it.
Under Biden, Border Patrol averaged 1,837 illegal gotaways every single day in fiscal year 2023.
Under Trump, that figure collapsed to 77 per day – a 96 percent drop – according to Fox News reporter Bill Melugin citing internal CBP data.
In Trump's first 50 days, ICE arrested 32,809 illegal immigrants – nearly matching Biden's entire final year of enforcement.
Sheridan Gorman walked onto that pier to see something beautiful.
Biden's open border put her killer there – free, armed, and invisible to every agency that should have removed him years earlier.
Democrats built that system and called it compassion.
