CNN keeps pushing the narrative that Trump's immigration crackdown has gone too far.
They're painting protesters as heroes and ICE agents as villains.
But Tricia McLaughlin just flipped the script in the most spectacular way.
CNN's Pamela Brown Confronts DHS Over Minneapolis ICE Enforcement
DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin appeared on CNN Thursday and delivered a masterclass in media accountability.
Host Pamela Brown tried the usual playbook — showing clips of protesters, citing polls, wringing her hands about "police state" tactics.
McLaughlin wasn't having any of it.
"I think that there's a lot of fearmongering going on, I think, by the media," McLaughlin said.
Brown jumped in immediately with a "fact check" — claiming people were just "using their independence of mind" watching videos.
That's when McLaughlin dropped the hammer.
"No, actually, it is the media," she fired back.
"We're seeing it time and time again by saying things like 'police state.'"
Brown had just walked into a trap of her own making.
McLaughlin Exposes 2,500 Criminal Arrests CNN Won't Cover
Here's where the interview got uncomfortable for CNN.
"Pamela, in the last five weeks we have arrested 2,500 criminal illegal aliens off the streets of Minneapolis," McLaughlin said.
She didn't stop there.
"I have not seen CNN cover who some of those individuals are: an individual from Ecuador who murdered his three-month-old son; an individual who's perpetuating human slavery and human trafficking; scores and scores of murderers; child pedophiles," McLaughlin continued.
"Why does the media not talk about that?"
Brown had no answer.
Because CNN has spent weeks covering the Renee Good shooting from every possible angle sympathetic to protesters.
They've analyzed the video frame by frame.
They've interviewed her family, her friends, her neighbors.
They've published polls showing Americans disapprove of ICE tactics.
But McLaughlin just exposed what CNN hasn't covered — the actual criminals being removed.
An Ecuadorian man who killed his infant son.
Human traffickers operating in broad daylight.
Sex offenders targeting children.
All walking free because sanctuary policies block ICE from jail access.
"We continue to see people love to demonize law enforcement, vilify them, as there's a 1,000% increase in assaults against them," McLaughlin said.
"And yet we're not talking about the great work that they're doing on the ground."
Brown tried pivoting to polls showing 51% of Americans think ICE makes cities "less safe."
That's rich coming from a network that won't report on child killers being arrested.

McLaughlin explained why Minneapolis looks like a war zone.
"The reason we have a physical presence on the ground is because of the sanctuary city policies," she said.
"Because of these policies, we are not allowed into the jails."
Over 1,400 criminal illegal aliens are sitting in Minneapolis jails right now protected by policies Tim Walz and Mayor Jacob Frey instituted.
ICE can't access them.
So federal agents have to track them down after release.
That's why Minneapolis has around 22,500 federal agents deployed.
Not because Trump wants to intimidate people.
Because Minnesota's Democrat politicians won't cooperate, forcing ICE to operate on the streets instead of inside jails where these operations belong.
Brown wanted to focus on one civilian shot during a confrontation with federal agents.
McLaughlin forced her to confront thousands of criminal arrests CNN hasn't mentioned once.
DHS arrested more than 1,000 known or suspected terrorists in the past year.
They've taken 3,500 Tren de Aragua gang members off the streets.
CNN's coverage? Hours of hand-wringing about ICE "tactics" and zero coverage of who they're actually arresting.
McLaughlin pointed out Good was obstructing federal operations for hours before the shooting — a felony.
She refused lawful commands to exit her vehicle.
Instead, she accelerated toward the officer.
But CNN keeps second-guessing split-second decisions by federal agents under attack.
Media Bias Exposed After Renee Good Shooting Coverage
The interview revealed everything wrong with CNN's Minneapolis coverage.
Brown even questioned whether the injured ICE agent's internal bleeding was serious enough because he left the hospital the same day.
Think about that.
CNN questions whether an ICE agent's injuries were real.
But when Good rams a federal vehicle, CNN demands murder charges.
The double standard couldn't be more obvious.
McLaughlin also destroyed CNN's narrative about ICE recruitment.
Brown brought up a poster reading "We'll have our home again" that activists claimed was a white nationalist dog whistle.
"Have our home again is now a white nationalist dog whistle?" McLaughlin asked.
"I mean — what is a dog whistle?"
She pointed out there are plenty of poems, songs, and books with the same title.
"The fact that people would like to cherry-pick something of white nationalism to make some sort of connection to DHS law enforcement — it's no wonder we're seeing vast, rampant assaults against law enforcement," McLaughlin said.
CNN manufactures outrage about recruitment posters while ICE agents face a 1,000% increase in assaults.
Vehicle attacks are up 3,200% in Minneapolis alone.
That's the media environment McLaughlin is fighting.
And it's the same environment that got Charlie Kirk killed on September 10.
Media outlets spent years demonizing conservatives and law enforcement as threats to democracy.
Now they act shocked when federal agents enforcing immigration law get attacked in the streets.
Trump's Mandate Delivers Results CNN Ignores
McLaughlin reminded Brown that Trump won a mandate from voters to secure the border.
Minneapolis homicides have increased roughly 50% since Walz took office.
Meanwhile, red states cooperating with ICE see far fewer confrontations and better results.
Florida has arrested 40,000 criminal illegal aliens with state and local law enforcement working together.
Peace, public safety, no riots.
That's what happens when politicians work with ICE instead of obstructing them.
"Tim Walz and Mayor Frey should let us into their jails," McLaughlin stated.
"Let us take those murderers, those rapists, those child pedophiles out."
"That would simply solve the situation."
The solution is obvious.
Sanctuary city politicians choose chaos over cooperation.
Then CNN blames federal agents for the resulting confrontations.
McLaughlin exposed that con in real time.
Brown couldn't defend CNN's silence on the arrested child murderer.
She had no response about human traffickers and pedophiles being removed from Minneapolis streets.
She just cited more polls about Americans being "concerned."
This interview showed why Americans don't trust media coverage of Trump's immigration enforcement.
CNN focuses on one protester who attacked federal agents.
They ignore thousands of criminal arrests that include the worst predators imaginable.
They manufacture outrage about recruitment posters and question whether injured officers are faking their wounds.
Tricia McLaughlin called them out for all of it.
And Pamela Brown had no answer.
