Democrats are terrified of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
His political star is rising after his landslide re-election win.
And Democrats were fuming after a liberal comedian revealed one truth about Ron DeSantis.
Speculation is heating up about the 2024 Presidential election after a mixed bag for Republicans in the Midterm elections.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis delivered one of the most dominant GOP performances of the night after he trounced his Democrat opponent by nearly 20 points.
With a dominating victory the conversation is growing about the Florida Governor being a top tier Presidential candidate.
Liberal comedian Bill Maher stunned his audience when talking about DeSantis’ prospects as a 2024 Presidential candidate on his HBO show Real Time with Bill Maher.
Maher discussed DeSantis as a potential challenger to former President Donald Trump for the 2024 GOP nomination with guests, Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA) and CBS News correspondent Robert Costa.
Rep. Khanna, an ally of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), tried to attack DeSantis for taking away Disney’s special privileges in Florida and laughably claimed the Florida Governor was a threat to the First Amendment.
“I understand what you’re saying about DeSantis,” Maher said to Khanna. “The reason why I think DeSantis is so strong is because he can do both things. He can do the performance art that seems to have you so exercised, to the base, most of which I don’t really know if it’s that damaging.”
Democrats predicted that standing up to Disney and taking away their special tax status would be politically fatal to DeSantis.
“He picks a fight with Disney, does it really affect anybody?” Maher continued. “I mean, I read that ‘Don’t Say Gay,’ which is not the name of the law.”
The Left ran a vicious smear campaign against the DeSantis’ parental rights bill that stopped teachers from discussing sexuality with kindergarteners calling it “don’t say gay.”
“They called it the ‘Don’t Say Gay’ law,” Maher said. “It could have been called the ‘Let’s do things in schools the way we did five years ago’ law. It really could’ve.”
A liberal Hollywood comedian stunned his audience by revealing the truth that DeSantis’ parental rights bill was common sense.
“So what I’m saying is he can do both that, but — he knows how to rile up the base, I agree; he’s a politician —but he can also be a normal Governor,” Maher explained. “In other words, after the storm, he can stand with President Biden like a normal Governor does and work with them and then send some migrants to Martha’s Vineyard. You know, and that’s a very powerful thing to have both those elements.”
DeSantis’ remarkable handling of the response to Hurricane Ian even had President Joe Biden offering him praise for his leadership.
Clearly Ron DeSantis’ common sense conservative leadership is earning him praise in the unlikeliest of places.
