Former President Donald Trump and his family were the subject of intense scrutiny and vicious smear campaigns by the media.
The media tried to turn a blind eye toward the scandals surrounding Hunter Biden until they became too big to ignore.
The treatment of the Biden family’s influence-peddling operation is another example of the media running cover to protect President Joe Biden.
Comedian Bill Maher torched the media for ignoring Hunter Biden’s scandals during an appearance on MSNBC.
He pointed out that if Donald Trump Jr. engaged in the same behavior, it would get wall-to-wall coverage in the media.
His comments came during a discussion about the scandals surrounding Trump and Biden with host Ari Melber.
“I don’t understand how they can equate this equivalency between Trump and Biden,” he said. “Do I love everything about Biden? No. But I just don’t understand how they can look at what Trump did — now, does the Hunter Biden scandal stink? It really does. It stinks to the high heavens.”
The media after being forced to cover Hunter’s influence-peddling has done damage control for Biden by downplaying the bombshell revelations uncovered by the House Oversight Committee.
“That’s real corruption there, that a lot of the Left-wing media will not cover,” Maher continued. “But it’s nothing like what Trump did. There’s just no equivalency to be — you can say, whataboutism for anything, but… you just can’t tell unlike things apart, if you see that the same way.”
Maher explained how the media would treat Donald Trump Jr. if he was embroiled in a similar scandal.
“But they also shouldn’t cover up what — I mean, if Don Jr. had done the things that Hunter Biden did, it would be every day,” Maher said. “If they found cocaine in the White House, whose could it be? Who does cocaine around here? We can’t figure it out.”
If the situation was reversed MSNBC would be leading with it during every segment and its hosts would be calling for Trump’s impeachment.
The media is trying to protect Joe Biden and has no interest in the truth or having journalistic standards.
Bill Maher went on the most left-wing network in cable news to give them a reality check for giving Hunter Biden the kid-glove treatment.
