Barack Obama spent $34 million of your money fixing the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool.
Now Trump is beautifying the same pool for $13 million – ahead of America's 250th birthday – and CNN erupted.

When the Left Discovers Fiscal Conservatism
On Saturday, CNN's Table for Five turned into a screaming match over the Reflecting Pool renovation.
Host Abby Phillip led the charge.
"Is it just monopoly money to the president at this point?" she asked.
"We just got through DOGE, when they fired a bunch of federal employees claiming that every penny mattered, and now nothing matters?"
New York Post columnist Lydia Moynihan wasn't having it.
She noted what anyone with a calculator could figure out – Obama's 2012 renovation cost $34 million, and Trump is doing it for $13 million.
"These are pennies when you consider what Democrats are proposing spending trillions of dollars on," Moynihan said.

Then journalist Touré jumped in with Iran, the economy, and gas prices – the full left-wing panic package.
Moynihan asked the only logical question: "Should we just let everything go to hell?"
What CNN Forgot to Mention
The Reflecting Pool has been a maintenance disaster for a century.
Built in the 1920s on marshland without structural support, the pool spent decades slowly sinking into the ground and cracking apart.
By the time Obama finally acted, it was losing 500,000 gallons of water a week.
His administration spent $34 million to stabilize it.
And it still leaks – 16 million gallons a year, according to Interior Secretary Doug Burgum.
Trump looked at federal estimates of $355 million and a 3.5-year timeline and rejected both.

His team brought the project in for $13 million – ahead of schedule – with a July 4 deadline for America's 250th birthday celebrations.
He drove his motorcade across the drained pool to inspect the work personally.
Duck droppings.
Algae.

That's not reckless spending.

The Math CNN Won't Do
Phillip's "monopoly money" line is a revealing tell.
When Obama spent $34 million on the same pool, CNN wasn't in the streets.
When Democrats proposed trillions in new spending, Phillip wasn't asking if it was "monopoly money."
But $13 million to restore America's most photographed monument – that's the outrage.

Former Michigan Rep. Peter Meijer said it plainly: "It is good that we are prioritizing making D.C. safe, healthy, attractive."
He's right.
Trump chose "American Flag Blue" for the pool's new coating.
A preservation group sued to stop it mid-paint job – potentially leaving the pool half blue in front of 25 million annual visitors on America's 250th birthday.
