Conservatives may have just been handed a significant victory, and they don’t even know it yet.
The Ninth Circuit Court, the most overturned court in the United States, just made a ruling that is so egregious even some Democrats won’t be able to support it.
And now Clarence Thomas finally has the opportunity to hand Joe Biden a massive defeat.
Hawaii resident, George Young, applied for a permit in 2011 to open and conceal carry a firearm, but his application was turned down because Hawaii requires residents to prove that they were in danger.
Young sued over the violation of his Second Amendment rights and the Ninth Circuit just delivered one outrageous opinion.
According to the liberal Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, there is no right to carry a firearm either open or concealed for self-defense outside one’s home.
Ninth Circuit Judge Jay Bybee wrote that the government had every right to restrict Americans’ ability to exercise their Second Amendment right to carry a firearm.
“The government may regulate, and even prohibit, in public places – including government buildings, churches, schools, and markets – the open carrying of small arms capable of being concealed, whether they are carried concealed or openly,” Judge Bybee wrote.
But Bybee didn’t stop there. Bybee and the majority went on to argue that Americans had no right to self-defense while in public.
“We have never assumed that individuals have an unfettered right to carry weapons in public spaces. Indeed, we can find no general right to carry arms into the public square for self defense,” Judge Bybee stated.
This is just the case the Supreme Court conservatives, headed up by Justice Clarence Thomas, have been waiting for.
Justices on the Supreme Court have been waiting for just the right case to come along to expand the definition of the Second Amendment beyond self-defense inside one’s home.
It looks like the liberal Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals just handed the conservative SCOTUS Justices precisely what they needed.
