The Confession Nobody in the Democrat Party Wanted to Hear
Cuomo laid it out cold on the September 24 episode of The Chris Cuomo Project.
Cuomo said Biden was "so p*****d that they didn't want him to run again" that "I believe he submarined the whole thing."
That's not spin.
That's a lifelong Democrat – son of a Democrat governor, former CNN anchor, card-carrying member of the media establishment – saying Joe Biden deliberately tanked his own party's chances of stopping Donald Trump.
Cuomo didn't hedge it either.
"I believe he forced Harris on them,” he said. “I believe he delayed it. I believe he screwed up the process. I believe he wanted to punish them for not letting him run again."
And then the kicker: Cuomo said Biden still talks about it in his "private moments" – that people who've been around the former president have heard him acknowledge exactly what he did.
He wanted to punish them.
Why the Timeline Proves Cuomo Is Right
Think about what Biden actually did.
Democrats spent weeks after that catastrophic June 27, 2024 debate begging – publicly, humiliatingly – for Biden to step aside.
David Plouffe, who ran Barack Obama's 2008 campaign and served as a campaign adviser to Harris, later told CNN's Jake Tapper and Axios reporter Alex Thompson that Biden "totally f***ed us" by staying in the race until late July.
Plouffe called the 107-day campaign "a f***ing nightmare."
"It's all Biden," Plouffe said.
Biden watched all of that pressure mount for nearly four weeks – and waited.
When he finally stepped aside on July 21, he immediately endorsed Harris without allowing any primary process, any open convention, any legitimate alternative to emerge.
Harris got 107 days.
Trump swept all seven battleground states and won the popular vote for the first time a Republican had done so in twenty years.
Biden Called Trump Supporters "Garbage" One Week Before the Election
The sabotage theory doesn't rest on Cuomo's podcast alone.
Biden took a sledgehammer to Harris's campaign multiple times in ways that strained any innocent explanation.
He crashed a White House press briefing at the exact moment Harris stepped on stage for a Michigan rally – forcing TV networks to cut away from her.
He put on a Trump 2024 hat at a campaign event, generating viral mockery that dominated a full news cycle.
And one week before Election Day, Biden called Trump supporters "garbage" – torching whatever momentum Harris had built heading into the final stretch.
Harris spent the next day cleaning up his mess instead of closing her campaign.
Each move, taken alone, could have been written off as a gaffe.
Together, they look like something else entirely.
What Cuomo's Confession Actually Means
Cuomo was so disgusted with how Democrats handled the 2024 race that he didn't vote for Harris.
