Hollywood is hostile to anyone that is not left-wing.
That goes double for religious conservatives.
And Candace Cameron Bure just responded to one vicious smear campaign against her.
Candace Cameron Bure, who is best known for playing DJ Tanner on the sitcom Full House, has been getting pilloried from the Left regarding her stance on traditional marriage and working with the Great American Family network.
Pop star Jojo Siwa, who’d had a previous social media beef with Bure, sent out a beacon after Bure sat for a Wall Street Journal interview discussing her move from the Hallmark Channel to Great American Family, and the left-wing attack dogs came running.
Fellow actress Hilarie Burton slammed Bure as a “bigot” and her husband, actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan, called Bure a “twit.”
Full House and Fuller House co-star Jodie Sweetin appeared to side with Siwa and threw shade at her television sister.
And Bure finally responded after the left-wing barrage.
She wrote on Instagram, “I would like to address my comments on Great American Family’s programming as reported in The Wall Street Journal. All of you who know me, know beyond question that I have great love and affection for all people. It absolutely breaks my heart that anyone would ever think I intentionally would want to offend and hurt anyone. It saddens me that the media is often seeking to divide us, even around a subject as comforting and merry as Christmas movies. But, given the toxic climate in our culture right now, I shouldn’t be surprised. We need Christmas more than ever. I am a devoted Christian. Which means that I believe that every human being bears the image of God. Because of that, I am called to love all people, and I do. If you know me, you know that I am a person who loves fiercely and indiscriminately. My heart yearns to build bridges and bring people one step closer to God, to love others well, and to simply be a reflection of God’s huge love for all of us.”
Bure’s explanation will likely fall on deaf ears among the Left.
The “tolerant” ones mock and sneer at anyone with religious beliefs.
Bure’s daughter Natasha came to her mother’s defense, writing, “How much she loves Jesus and how firm in her faith she stands. She is bold. She is kind. She is so creative and has one of the greatest hearts. I look up to her in many, many ways. I love you . . .”
The Left always fixates on a target, so expect more slings and arrows going in Bure’s direction.
