Bruce Willis appeared in more than 100 movies and shows during his long and successful acting career.
Willis turned 69 on Tuesday.
And Bruce Willis’ family shared a heartfelt birthday message that left his fans teary-eyed.
Bruce Willis first emerged on the scene in 1985 with a starring role in the popular TV comedy and drama series Moonlighting.
From 1985 until the end of his career in 2022, Willis was able to land a role in more than 100 shows and movies.
Willis won a Golden Globe Award, two Primetime Emmy Awards, and two People’s Choice Awards over the years.
In 2006, he earned his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
But Willis’ career came to an end in 2022 after being diagnosed with aphasia.
Doctors then diagnosed him with frontotemporal dementia in 2023.
On February 16, 2023, Willis’ wife Emma, his children, and his ex-wife, Demi Moore, released a statement announcing the tragic news.
“Since we announced Bruce’s diagnosis of aphasia in spring 2022, Bruce’s condition has progressed and we now have a more specific diagnosis: frontotemporal dementia (known as FTD),” they wrote.
“Unfortunately, challenges with communication are just one symptom of the disease Bruce faces,” the statement continued. “While this is painful, it is a relief to finally have a clear diagnosis.”
Unfortunately, there is no treatment or cure for the disease.
But Willis turned 69 on Wednesday and his family members shared several heartfelt messages with his fans.
His wife Heming mentioned how they are all just as big of fans as everyone else.
“Just like you, we simply adore him,” she wrote on Instagram next to a photo of him holding his grandchild.
“What you might not know, but maybe you could imagine, is that being wrapped in his arms is the safest place in this whole wide world,” she continued. “He’s a true gentle-man. With so much love to give and share.”
“That’s what I get to see, his true core,” Heming Willis wrote. “I can tell you, it’s so pure and ever so good.”
“Happy Birthday my love,” she added. “You are the gift that keeps giving.”

His granddaughter Rumer Willis also added her own comments to the post.
“Oh Daddio, to be loved by you is such a gift,” she wrote. “You are the funniest, most tender, charming, out-of-this-world silly talented and magical papa.”
Bruce Willis is an American legend.
His role in the Die Hard movies will never be forgotten.
