President Trump even weighed in, saying he liked Brittany "much better" than Swift during a "Fox & Friends" interview.
The Left thought they had their narrative locked and loaded – political differences destroying America, one friendship at a time.
But now Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are engaged, and guess who’s leading the celebration?
Brittany Mahomes posted on her Instagram Stories: "Two of the most genuine people meet & fall in love. Just so happy for these two."
Her husband Patrick Mahomes shared the engagement photos with three red hearts.
So much for that manufactured feud the media was peddling.
Real people don’t let politics destroy genuine relationships
Normal Americans – the kind of people who live in the real world instead of Manhattan newsrooms – don’t let political differences destroy actual friendships.
Brittany Mahomes and Taylor Swift became friends because their husbands are best friends and teammates.
They bonded over watching football games and supporting the people they love.
That’s not something you throw away because one person likes Trump and the other person likes whoever the Democrat machine tells her to support.
The media kept pushing this narrative that America is so politically divided that families are falling apart and friendships are ending over elections.
They wanted this story so badly because it fit their preferred narrative about Trump supporters being somehow toxic and divisive.
But you know what actually happened?
Two women remained friends despite having different political views – like millions of Americans do every single day.
The Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes recently told reporters that when Swift and Kelce called to tell them about Swift’s album announcement on the "New Heights" podcast, they didn’t even call him directly.
"They didn’t call me. They called Brittany. I was in the back of the FaceTime," Mahomes said.
That sure sounds like a friendship that survived whatever political theater the media tried to create.
The Left can’t stand it when their narratives fall apart
Here’s the thing that really gets under the skin of the professional dividers in the media.
They spent months trying to turn every relationship in America into a political battleground.
Family dinners, workplace friendships, neighborhood barbecues – nothing was supposed to survive the great political sorting that the media was determined to document and amplify.
But regular people kept being regular people.

The professional outrage merchants in the press can’t stand it when Americans refuse to hate each other on command.
