Bill Maher Told Ro Khanna He Wants a Gun and the Democrat Had No Answer

Kamala Harris spent 2024 pretending she loved the American flag.

Now her party is boycotting America's 250th birthday because they hate who occupies the White House.

Bill Maher just called out both frauds on live television – and what he said about California's gun laws left a sitting congressman with nothing to say.

Maher Wants a Gun and California Won't Let Him Use It

The Supreme Court ruled last week that habitual marijuana users cannot be banned from owning firearms – a 9-0 decision written by Justice Neil Gorsuch that the left's media machine largely ignored.

Maher didn't ignore it.

He brought it up on Real Time Friday night and turned to Representative Ro Khanna live on air.

"Now you have my attention," Maher said of the ruling. "That's awesome. That's fair. I want guns and I can't have them because it's illegal."

Khanna's response revealed everything about how Democrats think about the Second Amendment.

"You don't strike me as a gun guy," Khanna said, visibly confused.

Maher fired back: "Why wouldn't you want a gun?"

What followed was Maher's most honest critique of California's gun laws in years.

He explained that even if he legally owned a firearm, it would be nearly useless in the one situation it exists for – defending his own home.

"You almost can't use it," Maher said. "Because if you do, you might be the one to go to jail."

He described the scenario California law actually requires: "He better be in your bedroom facing you. You shoot him on the lawn, you're going to go to jail."

Khanna's response – "I'm for investing in police" – said everything.

Maher didn't let it go: "Even if there's somebody in your house?!"

Nine Democrat Governors Refused to Show Up for America's 250th Birthday

While the Supreme Court was handing Second Amendment wins to ordinary Americans, Democrats were busy organizing protests against their own country's birthday.

Nine Democrat governors – Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Maine, Illinois, Oregon, Washington, and North Carolina – refused to send official delegations to America's 250th celebration on the National Mall.

Martina McBride, the Commodores, Young MC, and Poison all pulled out of the Freedom 250 concert the moment Trump's name was attached to it.

Maher, to his credit, called this what it is.

"That's so high school it should be in the Epstein files," he said of the "if Trump's going, I'm not" attitude.

Then he went after Kamala Harris directly.

"Every election year, Democrats seem to remember patriotism for about an hour at their convention when they're trying to win back swing voters," Maher said.

Harris spent her entire 2024 campaign wrapping herself in the flag and telling voters that being American was the greatest privilege imaginable.

Then her party spent the next 18 months proving she didn't believe it.

"You can't take back the flag in an hour if the rest of the time you treat patriotism as something vaguely embarrassing," Maher said.

Here's what Maher understands that his party refuses to hear: every performer who walked off that stage made Trump's job easier.

What should have been a broad national celebration – country, pop, R&B, something for everyone – became a one-party event because Democrats kept walking away from it.

Now it's Trump and Lee Greenwood on the National Mall.

Democrats built that.

The Supreme Court is dismantling California-style gun restrictions case by case.

The party that claims to speak for working Americans is boycotting the country's birthday.

And the one liberal in Hollywood with the guts to say so just made a congressman squirm on camera by asking the most basic question in American life.

Why wouldn't you want a gun?

Khanna had no answer.

Neither does the rest of the party.
