Parents were called domestic terrorists for saying it.
Now the Left's most prominent comedian just said it on HBO.
Bill Maher admitted Friday night that America's schools are full of leftist indoctrination – and he said it without being asked.
The Moment Liberal America's Court Jester Broke Ranks
The admission came during a discussion about putting the Ten Commandments in public schools on Real Time with Bill Maher.
Maher made clear he opposes the Ten Commandments in classrooms.
Then he volunteered something the left has spent years denying.
"Now, obviously, the left has f***** that up, too," Maher told his audience. "There's lots of leftist indoctrination in schools. So, both sides."
Bill Maher – host of HBO's flagship political program, standard-bearer of Hollywood liberalism – just confirmed what conservative parents have been screaming at school board meetings for years.

And he said it on his own show, without a single conservative in the room to make him.
What Parents Were Called Crazy for Saying
In 2021, parents across the country started showing up at school board meetings.
They brought lesson plans, library books, and curricula that read like political manifestos.
The National School Boards Association sent a letter to the Biden Justice Department asking federal law enforcement to treat those parents like domestic terrorists.
Attorney General Merrick Garland responded by directing the DOJ to consult with local officials on how to handle the disruptions – a move conservatives rightly read as using the Justice Department to intimidate parents out of showing up.
The message from the left was unmistakable: if you question what happens in classrooms, you're a threat to democracy.
Loudoun County, Virginia became ground zero – parents fighting a school board that was hiding a sexual assault committed by a gender-fluid student in a girls' bathroom while simultaneously pushing gender ideology into every classroom in the district.
A school board official called concerned parents a "hate group."

Those same parents were right about everything.
The Machine Behind the Indoctrination
Maher admitted the symptom.
He didn't explain the cause.
Education schools – the programs that train teachers before they ever set foot in a classroom – have operated as ideological factories for decades.
The result showed up in your grandkid's homework.
White privilege checklists handed to second graders.
Lesson plans telling third graders America was founded on genocide.
Middle schoolers asked to identify their pronouns before they learned long division.
Heritage Foundation researchers documented this pipeline for years.
Every time conservatives raised the alarm, the left called it a moral panic.
Maher just called it real.
Why This Matters More Than a Soundbite
Maher has broken with his own side before – on cancel culture, on free speech.
But this concession lands differently, because it hands conservatives the one thing the left has refused to give them for four years.
Validation.
When Trump signed executive orders targeting DEI programs in federally funded education, outlets called it an attack on learning itself.
When conservative governors passed parental rights legislation, the media called it book banning.
Bill Maher just told a national television audience they were right.
Trump acted because the problem is real.
States across the country passed parental rights legislation because the problem is real.
And now the left's own comedian can't pretend otherwise.
