Kamala Harris lost all seven swing states while Megan Thee Stallion was on stage "invigorating" her base.
Now even Bill Maher is publicly mocking the people who fell for it.
Actor Jerry O'Connell went on Maher's podcast and proudly announced he attended a Kamala rally and donated to her campaign – and Maher's response stopped him cold.
What Maher Said to His Own Guest's Face
"Wow. Oof," Maher said the moment O'Connell revealed the donation.
O'Connell pushed back, insisting the Megan Thee Stallion concert at the rally was "pretty f—ing epic" and that it "really invigorated excitement."
Maher's response was surgical.
"It really invigorated the people who are already going to vote for her anyway," he said. "That's who it invigorated."

Then came the line that should hang in every Democrat war room in America: "You have to almost try to f— up that badly."
The Celebrity Problem Democrats Keep Refusing to Solve
This wasn't a new thought for Maher – it was the latest version of something he's been saying for years and Democrats keep ignoring.
"Democrats really need to cut loose the celebrities," he said on his Club Random podcast. "They're not helping."
His argument is simple and he's right.
The moment a celebrity starts lecturing voters, Maher said, the average American hears: "Oh God, here's more of this stuff where you can't relate to a real life."
That's the entire problem in one sentence.
Kamala didn't just have a few celebrity surrogates.
She built her entire closing argument around them. Concerts. Rallies.
Star-studded events she has since revisited in her book – the one Maher said should have been called Everyone Sucks But Me.
She lost the working class. She lost Latino men. She lost young men.
She lost all seven swing states.
Megan Thee Stallion was on stage. She still lost by that much.

Maher said it plainly: Democrats "lost a crazy contest" against Donald Trump in 2024.
"Crazy" as in – they should have had every advantage. Trump had four years of media attacks. Two impeachments. A criminal conviction. The entire entertainment industry in their corner.
And they still went 0 for 7 in the states that decide elections.
The celebrity strategy didn't just fail. It actively told blue-collar voters in Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania that the Democrat Party wasn't built for them anymore – it was built for Jerry O'Connell and his wife donating to a campaign while Megan Thee Stallion performed.

Those voters heard the message loud and clear.
They just responded differently than Democrats expected.

Maher isn't a conservative. He didn't want Trump to win.
And he's still sitting across from a fellow Democrat saying: you got played, and the woman who played you just wrote a book about it.
Kamala Harris burned through hundreds of millions of dollars, booked every celebrity she could find, and lost every single state that mattered.
She's not sorry.
Her party learned nothing.
They're already lining up the next round of concerts and donation drives and star-studded rallies for the next candidate who has no idea why normal people stopped listening.
Jerry O'Connell donated to that disaster and still thinks the Megan Thee Stallion set was epic.
That's the Democratic Party in 2026 – still congratulating themselves for a party nobody outside the guest list was invited to.
