Big Tech vs. Big Tech. Amazon is suing Facebook over this massive fraud

It’s always good to remember that the other side has problems too.

And Big Tech is certainly the other side.

Now it’s Big Tech vs. Big Tech as Amazon sues Facebook over this massive fraud.

It is sometimes hard for conservatives to forget that the Left and their Big Tech masters aren’t always of one mind.

They have their problems and their internal fights, just like any movement.

When you get as big and powerful as companies like Amazon and Facebook, these fights are bound to happen, and bound to spill out into the open.

And that is what has happened in the case of a lawsuit filed by Amazon.

Maybe this legal battle will take some time away from the mega tech titans shutting down conservative voices on the internet.

Because this could be a protracted legal fight.

While Amazon hasn’t officially filed suit against Facebook’s parent company Meta, the Bezos monolith has taken to court the administrators of more than 10,000 different Facebook groups that were allegedly “used to coordinate fake reviews of Amazon products.”

The Facebook groups in question provide people free products or money in exchange for product reviews, Amazon said, which are used to hike product ratings in the hope that more products are sold. The practice takes place not only in the U.S., but also around the world in countries like the U.K., France, Germany, Spain, Italy, and Japan.

Amazon Vice President Dharmesh Mehta called Amazon’s legal action against the review boosting practice “proactive legal action targeting bad actors”.

Fake reviews have been an ongoing issue both Amazon and Google have had to face over the last several years.

And in fact a U.K. antitrust regulator launched an investigation into whether Tech companies were doing enough to stop the fake reviews.

A Facebook group called “Amazon Product Review” had more than 43,000 members before Facebook reluctantly removed it this year, and only after they took heat for not doing enough to clean house.

Amazon filed its lawsuit in Washington state’s King County Superior Court, neither party would comment on the lawsuit.

The lawsuit comes on the heels of U.S. lawmakers investigating Amazon’s efforts to deal with fake reviews as far back as 2019 when the Federal Trade Commission launched an investigation into a third-party website.

Many Big Tech observers see this latest move as a weak attempt by the Big Tech titans to try and belatedly begin cleaning house fearing a GOP sweep of Congress in this year’s November elections.

Conservatives are warning Big Tech they are set to crack down on the questionable practices and operations of the Tech companies.

This lawsuit could just be one part of a “self-policing” attempt to stave off Congressional action.
