Barack Obama Pulled Caitlin Clark Aside and Said Something That Has the Left in Full Panic

The left-wing media spent two years trying to make Caitlin Clark a villain.

Then Barack Obama showed up at her All-Star practice and said something nobody expected.

Clay Travis watched the clip and explained how it put the left-wing narrative in shambles.

Obama Said What the Media Refused to Say

Former President Barack Obama arrived at WNBA All-Star Media Day at his own Presidential Center in Chicago last Friday and walked straight toward Clark.

"You're great. You're fantastic. Don't let all this nonsense get you down," Obama told her, in footage captured by NBC Chicago.

Then he drew a comparison to his own experience: he didn't get famous until he was 45, and she shouldn't let the noise steal her joy.

"You're a hooper. You always hoop," he said.

Clark said her hands went "sweaty and clammy" the moment he walked through the door.

Then he asked her for a photo.

Travis posted the clip on X and didn't mince words.

"I love it," Travis wrote. "This is one reason why Obama was able to rise above all of the insanity back in the day of much of the Democratic Party. Because, ultimately, as he's saying there, he's a dad. He's a sports fan. He recognizes that Caitlin Clark is playing well… I love everything about this decision by Obama, and I wish more people would take a lesson from him."

Travis added one more line: "Left wing narratives are in shambles here."

The Media's Demand Machine Keeps Running

Clark called the coverage "emotionally exhausting" in a weekend interview with ESPN's Malika Andrews.

She was right to say it.

Over the past several weeks, Clark has been targeted repeatedly – most visibly when Alyssa Thomas drove a forearm into her throat, a play the league waved off before eventually reversing course and issuing a suspension.

A group of House Republicans called on the WNBA to investigate what they described as "repeated attacks" against her.

USA Today published a column invoking Emmett Till to argue Clark's style of play endangered Black and queer players.

No, that's not satire.

Then on Monday, Netflix host Elle Duncan went on The Sports Gossip Show podcast and put the responsibility back on Clark – demanding she publicly tell people to stop using her name to push agendas.

OutKick's Bobby Burack responded with a screenshot.

In June 2024 – Clark's rookie season – ESPN had already published a story in which Clark said exactly that.

"People should not be using my name to push those agendas," Clark told ESPN that year.

Burack had one question for Duncan: "Why did Duncan lie and say Clark never said this?"

The Pattern Every Conservative Has Already Figured Out

This is not complicated.

The left-wing media machine builds a narrative about Caitlin Clark – that she benefits from white privilege, that her fans are racists, that her success is illegitimate.

When Clark pushes back or declines to engage, they accuse her of not doing enough.

When her fans push back, they accuse those fans of harassment.

When a former Democratic president walks into the room, calls the whole thing "nonsense," and asks for a photo with her – they have no move left.

Obama looked at the situation like a father and said what was true.

The media chose the culture war.

Obama chose the hooper.
