The House Minority Leader circulated a letter this week announcing working groups to draft a Democrat "affordability agenda" heading into 2027.
Five policy buckets: housing, gas and utilities, groceries and goods, caregiving, and healthcare.

AOC leads the healthcare group alongside Representative Terri Sewell of Alabama.
This is the same Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez who championed Medicare for All – a proposal independent analysts estimated would cost American taxpayers $36 trillion in healthcare spending alone over its first decade.

The same congresswoman who, when confronted about the $93 trillion price tag on her Green New Deal, declared the plan "does not have a price tag or CBO score and costs us $0 if passed."

The Human Rights Campaign Gets a Seat at the Caregiving Table
The caregiving group went to Representative Sarah McBride of Delaware – the first transgender member of Congress – alongside Representative Morgan McGarvey of Kentucky.
Before her congressional run, McBride spent years as national press secretary for the Human Rights Campaign – the lobbying organization behind some of the most aggressive pushes to embed gender ideology into schools, pediatric medicine, and military policy.
Jeffries didn't pick a home health aide, a small business owner who fought insurance companies for coverage, or a parent who navigated the system for a disabled child.
He picked the Human Rights Campaign's former spokesperson to design the Democrat answer on elder care and family caregiving.
Jeffries Blames Trump for the Inflation His Party Created
In his letter, Jeffries declared that "America is too expensive."
He's right.
Eggs cost more. Gas costs more. Rent costs more.
What he left out is that his party controlled the White House, the Senate, and the House from 2021 to 2023 – and spent that window passing trillions in new federal spending that touched off the worst inflation Americans had seen since 1981.
Larry Summers – Bill Clinton's Treasury Secretary and Barack Obama's chief economic adviser – warned Democrats in February 2021 that their stimulus spending risked unleashing inflation "of a kind we have not seen in a generation."
Democrats called him an alarmist.
Sixteen months later, food prices were surging 21 percent over three years and the Fed was hiking interest rates at the fastest pace in decades.
Summers was right.
Jeffries was there.
Democrats Are Betting You Have a Short Memory
Republicans have used AOC as a campaign weapon for six straight election cycles for a reason.
She is the most recognizable face of the socialist Democrat agenda – Medicare for All, the Green New Deal, defund the police, open borders – and she has never backed away from any of it.

Jeffries just made her the official Democrat answer to the question every struggling family is asking: why does everything cost so much?
The voters he needs in Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin already rejected this party over exactly this mismatch.
He just made it permanent.
This isn't an affordability agenda.
It's the same radical leftist agenda with a price tag that AOC will swear is zero – right up until the bill lands in your mailbox.
