Democrats panicked, the media lost their minds, and nearly every elected Democrat demanded Biden drop out immediately.
Except one congresswoman stood in front of her Instagram followers and spent over an hour explaining why Biden's obvious decline was totally fine – and now she's lecturing America about Trump's mental fitness.
AOC Claims Trump Shows Cognitive Decline After Davos Speech
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez claimed Wednesday that Trump exhibits "increasingly erratic and alarming" behavior while speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
She told reporters the media's double standard is "really damning" when comparing coverage of Biden versus Trump.
"Everyone's pretending that this is normal," she said about Trump's recent appearances.
Here's what AOC conveniently forgot.
On July 8, 2024 – more than two weeks after Biden's catastrophic debate performance – Ocasio-Cortez was still one of Biden's loudest defenders.
While nearly 30 Congressional Democrats publicly called for Biden to step aside, AOC doubled down: "Joe Biden is our nominee. He is not leaving this race. He is in this race and I support him."
White House Response Destroys AOC's Biden Debate Defense
The White House wasn't about to let this hypocrisy slide.
Spokesperson Liz Huston fired back with a statement that landed like a sledgehammer: "Don't forget that after Joe Biden's brain unraveled on the 2024 presidential debate stage and nearly the entire Democrat party subsequently panicked and demanded Biden drop out of the race, Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez was one of the few delusional holdouts backing and pleading for Joe Biden to remain as their presidential nominee as late as July 8, 2024."
She added that AOC's "peanut-sized brain either forgot this happened or she thinks the American people are too stupid to remember."
While Democrats from Nancy Pelosi to George Clooney were privately and publicly begging Biden to exit the race because of obvious cognitive decline, AOC was telling anyone who'd listen that concerns about his mental fitness were manufactured by donor-class elites.
Trump Perfect Health Report Contradicts AOC's Cognitive Decline Claims
Trump's White House doctors reported in early January 2026 that he's in "perfect health" and scored 100% on his third consecutive cognitive examination.
Biden never released results from any cognitive testing despite months of public concerns, frequent on-camera confusion, and reports from foreign leaders that he appeared "frail, tired, meandering, and confused" in private meetings.
The media spent months running interference for Biden – until they couldn't anymore after that debate.
Now AOC wants Americans to believe Trump is the one with cognitive problems while she memory-holes her own months-long defense of a president whose decline was so obvious that his own party forced him out.
Trump just dominated the world stage at Davos and passed his third consecutive cognitive exam.
AOC stood by Biden when his cognitive issues were undeniable – and the White House just reminded everyone exactly what happened.
