Anthony Fauci’s Own Adviser Just Pleaded Guilty and the FBI Is Coming for the Man Who Called It a Conspiracy

Anthony Fauci's own top adviser pleaded guilty in federal court to hiding COVID records from the American public.

The FBI is now hunting for what his inner circle deleted.

And the FBI is coming for the man who called the Wuhan lab leak a conspiracy.

The Cover-Up That Already Produced a Conviction

Dr. David Morens isn't some obscure bureaucrat.

He was Fauci's senior adviser at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases – his right-hand man through the entire pandemic.

Last month, Morens walked into federal court in Greenbelt, Maryland and pleaded guilty to conspiring to defraud the United States government.

His crime: routing government business through his private email account to keep COVID-19 research records away from public records requests.

A federal judge scheduled his sentencing for November 12.

He faces up to five years in prison.

The DOJ's position is that Morens didn't stumble into a paperwork violation – he ran a calculated operation to keep records about Wuhan-connected research out of public view.

That's not a clerical error.

That's a man who knew what those records contained and made sure nobody would see them.

Bongino Walked Into FBI Headquarters and Demanded Answers

Early in 2025, Dan Bongino – then the deputy director of the FBI – called dozens of agents into the bureau's Washington headquarters for an uncomfortable conversation.

He wanted to know why the pandemic origins probe had stalled.

He wanted to know why government scientists weren't facing scrutiny.

The agents didn't have satisfying answers.

Since that meeting, FBI agents and DOJ prosecutors have sought phone, email, and payment records connected to at least eight scientists – including Fauci himself.

The FBI's Cleveland office has been examining whether Fauci and other government scientists leaned on virologists in early 2020 to minimize the possibility that COVID-19 came from a Wuhan lab.

That's the core allegation: that Fauci didn't just get it wrong.

He helped make sure other scientists got it wrong too.

Gabbard Dropped the Documents That Confirmed Everything

In June 2026, on her final day as Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard released a trove of declassified documents that blew the official story apart.

The documents showed that senior intelligence officials flagged Fauci as having a conflict of interest – and specifically blocked him from serving as an outside reviewer of COVID-19 origins assessments because of it.

The documents showed Fauci was involved in discussions connected to intelligence assessments while running NIAID – the exact thing he denied under oath before Congress in 2024.

He told the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic he had not spoken to intelligence agencies about COVID "to my knowledge."

The documents show otherwise.

Intelligence community whistleblowers also came forward with accounts of retaliation for challenging the official assessment on the virus's origins.

That's not a conspiracy theory.

That's a documented pattern of suppressing dissent inside the U.S. government.

The Pardon Problem – and Why It Isn't Over

Biden pardoned Fauci on his way out the door in January 2025, covering any federal crimes Fauci may have committed since 2014 as NIAID director.

Bongino openly acknowledged on his podcast that the pardon creates legal complications for any case against Fauci directly.

The pardon doesn't erase the evidence.

It doesn't restore the records Morens destroyed.

It doesn't explain why Fauci invoked the Fifth Amendment more than 100 times before the Senate Homeland Security Committee in July – refusing to answer questions about pandemic origins even with a pardon in his pocket.

Men with nothing to hide don't plead the Fifth more than 100 times.

The Senate committee held Fauci in contempt of Congress in early August after he refused to answer.

The FBI's investigation into the remaining seven scientists – the ones without pardons – is ongoing.

DOJ prosecutors in Maryland are still working the case, still subpoenaing records, still pushing for grand jury testimony from a former EcoHealth Alliance staff member.

The cover-up is already producing convictions.

The question now is how far up it goes.
