Supporting Donald Trump as a celebrity always risks a backlash.
But one high-profile supporter of the former President never expected the attack he faced.
And an NFL star had a Democrat politician target him over one show of support for Trump.
California Democrat demands Nick Bosa be traded over his support for Trump
San Francisco 49ers star defensive end Nick Bosa is one of the best defensive linemen in the NFL.
He won the NFL Defensive Player of the Year award in 2022 when recorded 18.5 sacks that season.
Bosa also happens to be a strong supporter of former President Donald Trump.
He caused a stir among the left-wing journalists who cover the NFL when he crashed an interview between 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy and NBC sideline reporter Melissa Stark.
Bosa popped into the camera’s view wearing a white hat with gold letters that said “Make America Great Again” and pointed to the hat.

The woke NFL encouraged players to kneel during the national anthem but Bosa’s brief cameo during an interview was beyond the pale for journalists and one California Democrat.
Speaker of the California State Assembly Robert Rivas (D-CA) was fuming that anyone could show support for the former President in the Golden State.
“I hope [49ers CEO Jed York] trades Nick Bosa to Mar-A-Lago,” Rivas wrote on X. “As a lifelong @49ers fan, I can say I’ve seen enough of Bosa in California.”
Rivas wants the team he’s allegedly a fan of to get rid of one of their best players because he couldn’t handle the sight of a hat.
Bosa, unlike woke athletes like Los Angeles Lakers star Lebron James, doesn’t say much publicly about his politics.
“I’m not gonna talk too much about it, but I think it’s an important time,” Bosa told reporters.
Rivas eventually deleted his post on X after backlash poured in for being a snowflake about a hat.
NFL may punish Nick Bosa for wearing a MAGA hat
The NFL encouraged former 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick and other NFL players to make statements about Black Lives Matter.
But Bosa is likely facing a fine from the NFL for wearing his MAGA hat.
Pro Football Talk NFL insider Mike Florio wrote that he expected the league to hand down a punishment.
“Bosa can avoid discipline only if the league office approved the hat in advance. That obviously didn’t happen. If the league office had approved the hat in advance, there would be nothing for the league to currently review,” Florio wrote.
The NFL has strict rules about what players can wear inside the stadium.
“‘The League will not grant permission for any club or player to wear, display, or otherwise convey messages, through helmet decals, arm bands, jersey patches, mouthpieces, or other items affixed to game uniforms or equipment, which relate to political activities or causes, other non-football events, causes or campaigns, or charitable causes or campaigns,’” Florio stated.
NFL players wore helmets with left-wing social justice slogans like “Black Lives Matter” and “Stop Hate.”
But Nick Bosa could face the wrath of the league for politics that its leadership doesn’t approve of.
