The media has Florida Governor Ron DeSantis in their crosshairs.
One attack on him crossed a major red line.
And an MSNBC host took everyone by surprise with this apology to Ron DeSantis.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has become the top target among elected Republican officials by Democrats and their media allies.
The media is constantly trying to smear DeSantis by lying about his agenda ahead of a potential presidential bid.
MSNBC host Andrea Mitchell ran with the latest dishonest attack on DeSantis during an interview with Vice President Kamala Harris.
Mitchell asked Harris, “What does Governor Ron DeSantis not know about Black history and the Black experience when he says that slavery and the aftermath of slavery should not be taught to Florida schoolchildren?”
Florida prohibited the use of the Advanced Placement African American History course because it was chock-full of woke propaganda that’s pushing a leftwing political ideology.
Democrats are falsely claiming that DeSantis banned the teaching of slavery in Florida schools because the state rejected a course that was filled with Critical Race Theory and queer theory.
Mitchell dutifully parroted this bogus Democrat talking point during her interview with Harris to get a shot in at DeSantis.
After the blatant lie by the MSNBC host, DeSantis fired back at the network.
“In terms of issues involving American history, it’s very clear in Florida standards, that we are required to teach all aspects of black history, not queer theory, but actual aspects of black history,” DeSantis said. “Including, MSNBC, slavery and its aftermath, including and required also, to teach about the discrimination. So that is in the law … they [MSNBC] are lying to you.”
The Florida Governor accused MSNBC of fabricating this lie about him because the media is trying to push a “narrative” and “agenda.”
Despite being caught red-handed lying about DeSantis, the network refused to issue a correction or apologize for their misdeed.
Spokesmen for DeSantis’s office corrected Mitchel about her for days on social media but neither the MSNBC host or the network backed down.
But Mitchell stunned everyone when she gave a half-hearted apology on her show but still continued to lie about the Florida Governor.
“In my interview last Friday with Vice President Harris, I was imprecise in summarizing Governor DeSantis’ position about teaching slavery in schools,” Mitchell said. “Governor DeSantis is not opposed to teaching the fact of slavery in schools, but he has opposed the teaching of an African American studies curriculum as well as the use of some authors and source materials that historians and teachers say makes it all but impossible for students to understand the broader historic and political context behind slavery and its aftermath in the years since.”
Instead of issuing a genuine apology for lying, Mitchell used a mealy-mouthed claim of “imprecise” language.
She then proceeded to lie by claiming that removing queer theory makes it nearly impossible to teach slavery.
Ron DeSantis got the last laugh when his team announced the Governor was boycotting MSNBC and NBC until a real apology was issued.
