Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is one of the leaders of the growing socialist wing of the Democrat Party.
She proudly calls herself a socialist and rails against the moderates in the Democrat Party’s leadership.
One of the co-hosts on ABC’s The View went on a rant that distorted reality about Ocasio-Cortez.
Ocasio-Cortez lost her bid to be the top Democrat on the House Oversight Committee to Representative Gerry Connolly (D-VA).
The fight for the post was seen as a battle in the Democrat Party over age – Ocasio-Cortez is 35 and Connolly is 74 – and ideology.
Former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) lobbied Democrats to vote for Connolly.
The hosts debated whether Ocasio-Cortez’s defeat was because she was too far to the Left.
Co-host Sunny Hostin shocked everyone by calling the New York Congresswoman a moderate whose views were supported by the majority of the public.
“She’s been demonized as this too progressive, far-left person, and I want to try to set the record straight because if she is too progressive, then the Democrats really are going to lose the working class, because this is her platform,” Hostin claimed.
Hostin blew up her argument by listing the socialist policies that Ocasio-Cortez supports.
“The key issues: healthcare for all people. Affordable housing, rebuild the unions, federal job guarantee, free public college,” Hostin said. “If that is too progressive for this country, then that’s a problem for the Democrats, and that’s a problem, quite frankly, for this country.”
Democrats lost more ground with working-class voters in the last election because they’re wildly out of touch.
Hostin’s clueless argument showed why working-class voters have abandoned Democrats in droves.

Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin had to give Hostin a wake-up call that Ocasio-Cortez’s socialist agenda is wildly out of step with most voters.
“A lot of this country does not support, for example, the Green New Deal, which would actually crush jobs across this country,” Griffin explained. “It would actually make international travel virtually impossible to do because of some of the regulations that would be in place.”
Hostin protested by claiming that the Green New Deal would create millions of jobs.
Ocasio-Cortez’s Green New Deal would destroy more jobs than any piece of legislation in human history by eliminating the use of fossil fuels.
“Universal healthcare, you should have of course, anyone who needs emergency coverage, people should have catastrophic coverage, but most Americans want to have some choice and optionality in their healthcare,” Griffin said. “There is a reason Obamacare did not have the public option. That’s not where the majority of the country is. I would argue that AOC is definitely too Left for the majority of the country.”
Sunny Hostin’s mentality represents how far out of touch Democrats have become from the average voter.
