When Joe Biden first took office, Biden fully embraced Ocasio-Cortez’s Green New Deal agenda to destroy the American oil and natural gas industry.
Biden also recently proposed a new rule to force Americans to drive costly and inefficient electric cars by the next decade.
But the Green New Deal is hugely unpopular and Americans are rightly skeptical of electric cars.
A new Gallup poll showed just four percent of Americans own an electric car and just 12 percent of Americans are seriously considering purchasing an electric vehicle.
Now that Joe Biden wants to run for reelection Biden wants to try and fool voters into thinking he isn’t at fault for rising energy bills by making a feint to the right to make it look like Biden supports domestic energy production by approving the Willow Project in Alaska.
In an interview with the socialist magazine Jacobian, Ocasio-Cortez slammed Biden for a “lurch to the Right.”
“This lurch to the Right at a time when the Right is scrambling and lost in the desert on how to even win an election after these stunning losses — I think it’s a profound miscalculation. And it is quite dangerous,” Ocasio-Cortez stated.
Ocasio-Cortez warned Biden that he should not forget “who it was that put him over the top” and ignore the socialist base of the party.
Polls show Joe Biden’s approval rating continues to sink.
A CNBC poll found just 39 percent of Americans approve of the job Biden is doing as President.
Biden’s falling approval rating is at a level where he is only retaining the support of the Democrat Party base.
Joe Biden cannot afford to run off his most loyal supporters on the Left so he has to take Ocasio-Cortez’s warning seriously.
But the RealClearPolitics polling average also shows Biden trailing Trump by 1.7 points and if Biden keeps making sops to the Left to keep Ocasio-Cortez happy, Biden will only further alienate swing voters.
