Adam Schiff just threatened every company in America that ever worked with Donald Trump.
Now the senator under federal investigation for mortgage fraud is vowing to drag them all before Congress.
He told MSNBC he already has a list – and they won't be able to stonewall him the way administration officials can.
Schiff's Warning to the Private Sector
Speaking Tuesday on MSNBC's The Briefing with host Jen Psaki, Schiff laid out exactly what a Democratic Senate majority would do on day one.
His target isn't the Trump White House.
His target is every private business, crypto partner, media company, and sports promoter that ever took a meeting with the president.
"We can subpoena the private sector and they will need to comply," Schiff told Psaki.
He rattled off the list on live television – crypto deals, meme coin transactions, the UFC fight, and the Paramount SkyDance and Warner Brothers mergers.

Schiff specifically cited backchanneling on media mergers and floated whether companies promised to change editorial content in exchange for regulatory favors.
That is an extraordinary public threat from a sitting United States senator.
What Schiff Is Actually Telling You
The calculation here is simple and he didn't bother hiding it.
Schiff knows administration officials will invoke executive privilege and run out the clock on any Senate investigation.
He's watched it happen twice.
So he's going around them – targeting the businesses, executives, and private citizens who can't claim executive privilege and have no choice but to appear.
The strategy is a political pressure campaign designed to freeze the business community – make every Fortune 500 CEO think twice before taking a phone call from the White House.
Republicans built a version of this playbook investigating the Mueller probe origins.
Schiff helped perfect it during Trump's first impeachment.
The Man Making These Threats Is Under Federal Investigation
Before taking Schiff's corruption warnings seriously, it helps to know what he's facing at home.
The Federal Housing Finance Agency sent a criminal referral to Attorney General Pam Bondi in May alleging Schiff falsified bank documents and property records to get better mortgage terms on a Maryland property – transactions spanning 2003 to 2019.
Schiff and his wife allegedly listed the Maryland home as their primary residence while he was simultaneously representing California in Congress and listing a Burbank, California property as his primary home.
The U.S. Attorney's Office in Maryland is leading the probe.
Schiff has denied wrongdoing.
The DOJ has since launched a secondary investigation into how the mortgage probe itself was handled – a fact Schiff is now citing as evidence Trump is targeting him politically.
The senator who spent years investigating Trump for obstruction and corruption is himself under investigation for allegedly lying on federal mortgage documents for sixteen years.
This Is What Desperation Looks Like
Democrats have no power right now and they know it.
Republicans hold the Senate, Republicans hold the House, and Trump is in his second term with an administration that has spent seventeen months systematically dismantling the infrastructure Democrats built during the resistance years.
Schiff isn't announcing a plan.
He's announcing a threat – a warning to the business community that cooperation with Trump has a price tag that comes due the moment the midterms flip.
That's not an oversight.
That's leverage.
And the man delivering it is the same senator who sat across from Kash Patel at a Senate oversight hearing nine months ago and watched the FBI director tell the room "I'm not going anywhere."

Schiff left that hearing with no scalp and no leverage.
This is him building both.
If Democrats take the Senate in November, Adam Schiff will have gavels, subpoena power, and a list.
That list is not limited to Silicon Valley billionaires and media conglomerates.
Schiff specifically named private citizens alongside corporations – and Democrats have already signaled their targets include universities, trade associations, law firms, and anyone who attended a White House roundtable, donated to Trump's inaugural committee, or publicly praised the administration to stay in good standing.
Your local chamber of commerce president who shook Trump's hand at a photo op is a private citizen.
So is the contractor who renovated the East Wing.
Every business that answered a White House phone call between January 2025 and November 2026 is already on it.
