A Watchdog Group Caught the NEA Defending Antifa in Slides Meant Only for Teachers

The NEA spent decades hiding what it really does with your tax money and teacher dues.

Now a watchdog group has the slides.

And what's on slide three will make you want to pull every kid out of public school tomorrow.

What the Leaked Documents Reveal

A training session held February 23 – billed as "Advocacy and Free Speech Rights for K-12 Educators" – turned out to be something else entirely.

Defending Education investigative reporter Chloe Hunt put it plainly: "This is not, in any sense, a training on educator rights. It is a political framing of the classroom, in which all Republicans are demonized and conservatives are portrayed as threats to education."

The slides told teachers that "Democracy itself is at stake," that the Department of Education is "now actively committed to violating civil rights," and that red state governments are just as dangerous as Trump.

The training named Republican-led states specifically – for banning DEI in schools and for wanting to hold students accountable for protesting ICE.

Teachers were coached on how to push back if a principal tells them to take down a Black Lives Matter or Pride flag – ask whether the policy is "viewpoint-neutral," the training advises.

Then came the Antifa slides.

The training included screenshots with the headline "White House Use of 'Domestic Terrorist' Doesn't Match Legal Reality" – a direct pushback on Trump's executive order targeting the Antifa movement.

A K-12 teachers union was telling classroom teachers that the president was wrong to call Antifa terrorists.

On pronouns, teachers were told they "can (and should address) students in the way they identify themselves" – regardless of what school records say.

That's the union telling your child's teacher to override school records and hide it from you.

The NEA Is a Political Machine With a Teachers Union Logo

None of this is new behavior – it's just newly documented.

In 2019, NEA delegates voted down a proposal to "rededicate itself to the pursuit of increased student learning in every public school in America."

They voted against student learning – in writing, at their own convention.

The union reported $402 million in revenue for 2024, and in the most recent election cycle, 98% of its political contributions went to Democrats.

In January, an NEA employee broke rank and told Fox News Digital what life inside headquarters actually looks like.

"It's a very liberal place. There's only a handful of conservatives that work at NEA, and if you are, it's like you just don't say anything, because it's a very toxic environment if you do say something," the employee said, remaining anonymous over fear of retaliation.

"It's crazy, they'll send out this weekly newsletter of 'Trump's a fascist' and blast it to all the states."

"It's 100% a cult and if you don't have their mindset, you're the enemy."

Congress Is Moving to Strip the NEA of Its Federal Charter

The NEA holds something no other labor union in America possesses: a federal charter granted by Congress in 1906 – the same status held by the Boy Scouts, the American Red Cross, and the U.S. Olympic Committee.

Republicans in Congress have had enough.

Rep. Mark Harris (R-NC) and Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) introduced the National Education Association Charter Repeal Act to revoke that charter entirely.

Rep. Scott Fitzgerald (R-WI) and Sen. Cynthia Lummis (R-WY) introduced the STUDENT Act – Stopping Teachers Unions from Damaging Education Needs Today – which would bar the NEA from electoral politics and lobbying, end taxpayer subsidies, and require the union to respect teachers' First Amendment right to leave.

Harris said the 119th Congress has "an opportunity to strip them of this charter and basically remove Congress's seal of approval."

The NEA was chartered in 1906 to "elevate the character and advance the interests of the profession of teaching."

Instead it's training teachers to defend Antifa, override school records on pronouns, and organize against Republican governors.

That's not education – and Congress is finally saying so out loud.
