Rock n’ roll is supposed to be an anti-establishment institution.
But social justice warriors are just coming around to this realization.
And this rock n’ roll icon spoke out against the woke mob and you won’t believe what happened next.
In an interview with Rachel Brodsky of Stereogum, legendary theatrical rock star Alice Cooper spoke out about the dangerous trend in society of woke activists pushing transgenderism on children and the culture at large.
That led to a makeup company that signed Cooper to an endorsement deal canceling the rock n’ roll Hall of Famer.
Brodsky asked Cooper if he agreed with some of his rock star peers that the increasing number of Americans – including children – who identified as transgender was a “fad.”
“Some of your ‘theatrical’ rock peers have commented about gender identity, with Paul Stanley and Dee Snider calling gender-affirming care for kids a ‘sad and dangerous fad,’” Brodsky stated.
Cooper agreed.
“I’m understanding that there are cases of transgender, but I’m afraid that it’s also a fad, and I’m afraid there’s a lot of people claiming to be this just because they want to be that,” Cooper stated.
Cooper blasted woke liberals in school and other cultural institutions pushing gender-identity insanity on children which only served to sow confusion.
“I find it wrong when you’ve got a six-year-old kid who has no idea. He just wants to play, and you’re confusing him telling him, ‘Yeah, you’re a boy, but you could be a girl if you want to be,’” Cooper added.
Cooper also warned that biological males could use the transgenderism fad to put actual women in danger.
“I can see somebody really taking advantage of this, though. A guy can walk into a woman’s bathroom at any time and just say, ‘I just feel like I’m a woman today’ and have the time of his life in there, and . . . he’s just taking advantage of that situation,” Cooper explained.
Shortly after Stereogum published Cooper’s comments, the Vampyre Cosmetics line announced it was dropping Cooper from a sponsorship deal.
“In light of recent statements by Alice Cooper we will no longer be doing a makeup collaboration. We stand with all members of the LGBTQIA+ community and believe everyone should have access to healthcare. All pre-order sales will be refunded,” a company statement read.
The woke mob still has its hooks in corporate America.
That’s the bad news.
The good news is a growing number of Americans – and even those normally associated with the Left, like musicians – are speaking out against gender-identity insanity being forced on children.
