Kash Patel flew to Portland to bury a friend.
While he carried the casket, a mob was outside his hotel screaming into the night.
They got there by tracking a government aircraft on a public flight app and staking out security details until they found him.
They Ran a Surveillance Operation on a Funeral
This wasn't a spontaneous protest.
Someone pulled flight records from FlightRadar24 and identified a Department of Justice Gulfstream G550 that flew from Camp Springs, Maryland – near Washington – into Portland International Airport on May 8.
Then they tracked where the security presence showed up downtown and zeroed in on the Sentinel Hotel.
"It wasn't 100% confirmed but very likely he was at the Sentinel," one protester told FOX 12 Oregon.
Sources confirmed to Fox News Digital that Patel and his girlfriend Alexis Wilkins were in Portland to attend the funeral of a close friend.
Patel helped carry the casket.
A mob with megaphones was outside his hotel at 11:30 at night while he was doing it.
Portland Has Been Doing This to Federal Officers for Years
This didn't start with Kash Patel.
Portland Antifa-affiliated groups have been running surveillance operations on federal officers for years.
DHS Secretary Kristi Noem called it out directly in July 2025 – groups like "Rose City Counter-Info" and "The Crustian Daily" had published the identities, photos, and home addresses of ICE agents for anyone to find.
Fliers went up in officers' neighborhoods with their family photos and the words "NO PEACE FOR ICE."
ICE officers in Oregon saw assaults against them jump nearly 700 percent.
During the Patel protest, someone sucker-punched a bystander outside the Sentinel.
Portland Police eventually showed up – to handle noise complaints.
No arrests were made.

Its leadership has chosen not to.
They Want Trump Officials Afraid to Leave Washington
The protesters told FOX 12 they were there over the weaponization of the FBI and Patel's handling of Epstein-related documents.
That's the stated reason.
The real reason is simpler.
When conservatives chased Sarah Sanders out of a restaurant in 2018, it worked.
When they surrounded Rand Paul and his wife after the Republican National Convention, it made headlines.
When they cornered Ted Cruz at dinner and wouldn't let him eat in peace, the message landed.
The lesson the Left took from all of it was: keep going.

Now they've upgraded from restaurant ambushes to flight-tracker surveillance.
They're not protesting policy anymore.
They're running intelligence operations on Trump officials to find them wherever they go – funerals included.
Think about what that means for anyone willing to serve in this administration.
You bury a friend in your hometown and a mob with megaphones shows up outside your hotel.
No arrests.
No accountability.
And the same Portland city leadership that let Antifa publish ICE agents' home addresses for two years will call this democracy in action.
Kash Patel carried his friend's casket and went home.
The mob got exactly what they wanted – a show of force that every Trump official watching now understands.
That's the point.
