Joe Biden’s Presidency is a raging dumpster fire.
One misstep is going to cost the country big time.
And a leading Republican blew the whistle on this colossal disaster by Joe Biden.
Gas prices are through the roof after President Joe Biden has declared war on American energy production, and actively attempted to destroy the oil and gas industry since he took office.
President Biden, like every other Democrat, is never going to let a crisis go to waste.
The Biden regime has been pushing electric vehicles non-stop as the solution to the high gas prices they caused.
Democrats across the nation have gone all-in on trying to force Americans to switch over to expensive electric vehicles, which carry an average price tag of $66,000.
The centerpiece of Democrats’ blatantly misnamed “Inflation Reduction Act” was a $7,500 tax credit for the purchase of an electrical vehicle.
By 2030, the goal of the Biden regime is for half of all cars on the road in the United States to be electric vehicles.
And this big push for electric vehicles by Democrats is turning into a gift for the Chinese Communist Party’s government.
China is currently a leading source of the rare earth metals, like lithium, nickel, and cobalt, that are essential for the batteries that are used to power EVs.
The country is also a major manufacturer of batteries and components used in electric vehicles.
Pivoting away from gas-powered vehicles will inevitably send billions of dollars to China and give them more control over American transportation.
Now, Republicans on the House Oversight Committee are warning the push for electric vehicles will cost American jobs and boost China.
In a letter to Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, 16 House Republicans, led by Ranking Member Rep. James Comer (R-KY), blasted the Biden regime’s “false claims” that their efforts to force Americans to buy electric vehicles won’t cost American jobs.
Secretary Buttigieg has been one of the regime’s chief messengers on the electric vehicles push.
“As the Secretary for the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and an advocate for Americans’ widespread adoption of EVs [electric vehicles], your agency is in a position to explain how Ford’s actions help American workers and the economy,” the letter read.
Ford recently announced that 3,000 workers were being let go and as many as 8,000 could be laid off as part of the company’s pivot towards electric vehicles.
To supply the batteries needed for electric vehicles, Ford is turning to Chinese battery manufacturer Contemporary Amperex Technology Company Limited (CATL).
“CATL alone ‘holds one-third of the global electric-car-battery market,’” the letter read. “This raises concerns about whether the push for EVs over gas-fueled vehicles will make America even more reliant on the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) instead of American energy resources.”
The House Republicans noted that CATL has close ties with the Chinese Communist Party, and that American automakers relying on the company is “particularly troubling.”
On top of that, President Biden is also weighing sending billions of taxpayer dollars to Canada to prop up that nation’s lithium, nickel, and cobalt mining operations while they simultaneously block any new mines in the U.S.
Currently, there is but one lithium mine and one nickel mine operational in the United States due to the fact that extremist left-wing environmentalists have blocked every effort to open new mines.
Dozens of companies are actively trying to spend billions of their own dollars to open lithium, nickel, and cobalt mines in the U.S. in order to help prevent American manufacturers from relying on foreign nations like China and Canada, while creating countless American jobs.
The Biden regime has falsely claimed that the transition towards a so-called “clean energy” economy is creating a lot of jobs.
Unfortunately for Americans though, the Biden regime is only creating jobs in foreign nations with American tax dollars while putting private American energy companies out of business.
